Chapter 12

Hayden's POV:

I don't think I have ever been so flustered in my life. I was torn between bolting before I did something I'd regret and trying to comfort my cringing mate as she held her abdomen in pain. Why the heck is she in heat? I thought to myself.

Who cares, let's do this! Kilian howeled. He was not thinking like himself, clearly. No, I think it's you who's not thinking clearly. We have needs to you know! I groaned Yeah I knew all too well that we had needs. Her smell alone was intoxicating. I finally got my head on straight and called three of my best female warriors to my apartment. When they arrived they were as confused as I was. We all know Kaily shouldn't be in heat yet. She just shifted today.

"Ok, I'm going to talk to Leo. You three, guard her with your lives. If anything happens to her you three are going to wish you were never born." I growled out. They nodded and I did all but fly to the elevator to get out of there. I groaned as I slid down to the floor. What was I going to do now? I couldn't put Kaily in that position to ask her but I knew heats well enough that the burn will be unbearable after a few days and I'll have do something about it. I didn't want her first time to be miserable like that either. I'd say this is the biggest rock and hard spot situation in the world.

"LEO!" I yelled as I saw my friend walking across the lobby with a good looking pack member.

"Alpha," She said flirtatiously with a wink. I growled at her to make sure she knew I was not in the mood.

"Dude what's wrong. You look like you've seen a ghost." Leo asked somewhat concerned.

"We have a very serious problem."

"Oh? Your mate shifted I thought you'd be out running and celebrating with her tonight not telling me there's a problem." I groaned and pulled him away from his girl for the night into an empty conference room nearby. "Dude, at this rate I'm never getting a good lay."

"Leo. Kaily's upstairs in heat." I said bluntly. I wanted as few non-mated pack members to know as possible. If they knew there could be trouble.

"That's crazy, she shifted today."

"Thus why I am talking to you, you numbskull."

"Hey, no need for name calling. The only thing I can think of is if her wolf pushed the process forward because something really turned her on and she decided she couldn't wait. That does happen sometimes, especially in females that get turned from human. Since they haven't had wolves that long their wolves expect to go normal speed even if their human isn't. I mean still, Kaily's wolf must have really been impatient for her to push it forward that quick, or she thought Kaily was ready."

"But I don't think Kaily is... especially with all this parent drama and her uncle and you know the odds of her getting pregnant are high during the heat. What am I supposed to do about that? Pregnant at 18 is not what either of us are ready for."
