The Letter

It's been about 3 weeks since Dominic and his men ambushed the Russian mafia. Everyone's wounds have healed thanks to having you there to keep an eye on them. Dominic hasn't mentioned anything about a retaliation from the Russians and has ordered you to stop your payments. You can't help but worry about the repercussions of both the attack and your defiance of stopping the payments.

"Are you sure this is a good idea Dom? I know my dad is a piece of shit but he's the only family I have left; I don't want him dead."

Dominic kisses your hand, "I'm positive principessa. And he is not the only family you have left. You have me and my entire crew/family. You are a Moretti whether its legal or not."

You can't help but smile at the idea of sharing his last name.

"How is this dress coming along? Is it everything you wanted?"

"It turned out absolutely amazing! I can't wait for you to see it next weekend."

He smiles, "why can't I see it now?"

"Because I want to surprise you. You do enough for me everyday that I want to do something for you. I know it isn't much but I'm hoping it will put a smile on your face."

He pulls you in for a chaste kiss, "just the thought of you puts a smile on my face mi amore. I can't wait to see you in it. I'm sure you will look stunning."

You stand on your toes and give him a sweet kiss on the cheek. "I'm looking forward to the Gala. Although I am a bit nervous to meet your family."

"There is nothing to worry about principessa. They are going to absolutely adore you. Besides, even if they didn't, I am crazy in love with you and don't give a rat's ass about their opinions."

You let out a small giggle, "and I'm crazy in love with you too Dom."

You give him one more kiss before you walk out of his office. After a few minutes Leo knocks on the office door.

"Hey boss. You got a letter in the mail but there is no return address."

Dominic looks at it with confusion and tears open the envelope. 

Moretti,

You have made a terrible mistake killing our men and ruining our shipment. I can assure you that there will be consequences to follow. When I get my hands on you I'm going to do the worst things imaginable to you. Beginning with reclaiming what is rightfully mine while you watch her scream. Take good care of my bunny until she is back in my arms.

Dominic can feel the anger inside him rising as he reads the letter. He slams his fist down on the desk and locks eyes with Leo. "Call the guys here now. We need to have a meeting."

Leo nods and begins to usher everyone into the office. Once they all arrive and the doors are closed Dominic begins speaking.

"Alright so as we figured the Russians are wanting to retaliate, more so Nathan but I'm not overly concerned about him. We are increasing all security here and will be adding more for the gala next weekend. I wouldn't put it past those bastards to try something there. I want constant eyes on Ana as well. Is that understood?"

They all say in unison, "yes boss."

"Good, everyone back to work."

The men slowly pour out of the office but Leo lingers behind. "Do you plan on letting Ana know about the letter sir?"

Dominic takes in a deep breath, "I'm not sure yet. I don't want to cause her anymore stress than she is already feeling."

Leo nods, "I understand. You know we will all do whatever it takes to keep her safe. I love her as if she was my own daughter and will lay my life down if it means saving hers."

Dominic locks eyes with Leo, "Thank you Leo."

Leo bows his head slightly and exits the office.

During the meeting you had wondered into the backyard and laid down on the grass. The weather had started to cool off as winter was steadily approaching but in the middle of the day the sun made it just perfect. You lay there with your eyes closed thinking about the past several months. So much has happened and its hard to comprehend at times. You can't help but feel the butterflies in your stomach every time you think about Dominic. You have never felt so much love for someone or felt so loved by someone. Suddenly a dark shadow hovers over you and you open your eyes to see Dominic standing over you.

He smiles down at you, "hello mi amore."

You smile back, "hi."

He sits down on the grass and pulls your body close to his. "What are you doing out here alone?"

You sigh, "just thinking. Its been a crazy few months and sometimes its hard to put it all into perspective. I just don't know how I got so lucky to find someone as amazing as you. I feel as though you deserve so much better than but I just love you so much and ..."

Before you are able to finish your sentence Dominic pulls your lips to his and kisses you passionately.

"Sorry principessa but you were rambling and that was the only way I knew to stop you. You are everything I have ever dreamed about and it is I who doesn't deserve you. Don't you ever forget that."

You smile at him slightly and nod your head. He pulls you to your feet and begins dragging you back inside the house.

"Where are we going," you ask softly.

He smiles back at you, "I'm going to show you just how much I love you." He winks at you and then begins to climb the stairs.
