The next morning, I woke up with makeup smeared all over my face. I sniffled grabbed my phone. It vibrated and I checked to see who was texting me.
[From: Christopher
To: Ariana
Hey]
Hey? Really? That's all he had to say? No apologies, no how are you, not even a what's up. It's just a hey. Boy, he's got some explaining to do if he thinks he can get me back.
[From: Ariana
To: Christopher
Hey? Really? If you're going to apologize, I'd like it in person, not over text.]
A half hour passed and I still had no response from Chris, so I decided to get dressed and ready for the day. I put on a pink tank top with a black skirt. After putting my hair up in a French braid, I went downstairs to get breakfast. As I walked down the stairs, I saw a figure sitting on my couch. I pulled out my phone, ready to call 9-1-1 when the person turned around.
"Grande, finally decided to come downstairs huh?" It was Christopher. I really wasn't in the mood for this right now.
"What do you want? If it's anything to do with me, I'm not interested."
"Ari. You're still thinking about last night?" he asked groaning.
"Did you really just ask me that?" I said mortified.
He shrugged.
"Never mind, I'm not surprised anyways. Only a douche like you would have the guts to ask about that." I rolled my eyes.
He still stood there, not saying a word.
"So are you gonna leave now?" I asked.
"Well, there's other stuff I'd like to do." Chris smirked.
"In your dreams, Parker." I scoffed.
"Whatever. Anyways, I'm sorry."
"For what? You lied Christopher. And you thought it was okay. You didn't even drive me home. I walked three miles home yesterday in the dark." I stated.
"I said I'm sorry. I shouldn't have lied." he said. And I could tell her really meant it.
"It's okay. I kind of overreacted anyways. I'm just sick of being your little secret." I sighed before sitting down next to him.
"You're no secret to me. This secret friendship sorta thing isn't gonna work out if you're gonna get mad over me covering it. It's secret for your own protection so that you don't get made fun of or talked about."
"You mean your protection?" I asked.
"And anyways, it's not like I don't get bullied anyways." I continued.
Christopher took a deep breath.
"Look, Ariana. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. I should've warned you I was gonna lie." he said apologetically.
"That's what I was waiting for." I giggled.
He hugged me and smiled too.
"So, wanna go get some lunch?" he asked.
"I thought this was secret. I'll make Mac and cheese." I smirked.
"Yay!" Chris said like a little kid. I rolled my eyes and started the mac and cheese while he watched tv. He changed it to the radio channels of hits 1. And that's when I dropped the boiling water all over the floor.
