"Absolutely not." Clarke was woken the next morning by her mother's yelling.
It took a few seconds for Clarke to force herself out of bed and quietly open her door so she could try to listen to what was going on outside her room.
"I really think you're over exaggerating. It's just one date." Mr. Griffin responded.
Clarke could not help but hold her breath as she realized what her parents were talking about. It surprised her how nervous she was for the answer when she did not even really want to go on the date.
"Just one date with a guard member. Who is way too old to date our daughter." Abby replied.
"That's rite he's a guard member. She could do a lot worse." Mr. Griffin replied.
"He is disrespectful." Abby snapped back at her husband.
"And how is that?" He asked her.
"The answer is no." Abby responded, avoiding his question.
Clarke was about to storm out. She truly thought her dad was going to lose this battle but to her surprised he was not done yet.
"Well I think we should let her go." He said.
Abby was about to say something but he cut her off.
"She is a good kid, and a great daughter. She always does what she's asked. She gets great grades in her classes. She has also never been in any trouble. I think we can trust her to go on one date. And before you say it's not her I don't trust it's him." He told her.
This caused Abby to cross her arms and groan in frustration.
"Bellamy has already agreed to go with her. So if Todd is not a perfect gentlemen Bellamy can intervene." He said finishing his speech.
Clarke listened behind her door as she waited for her mother's answer. She wanted desperately for this conversation to be over. She just wanted to know the answer.
"Fine. One date, and if this goes wrong it's your fault." Abby said to her husband before storming out of the house.
Clarke stood there for a few moments smiling to herself. She could not believe that her dad had done it. He had won, and she could go on the date. Not that she really wanted to but she could not help but feel excited that she had gotten her way.
"You can come out now. I know you're awake." Mr. Griffin called out to his daughter.
Clarke could not help but chuckle at the fact that her dad had known she was there the entire time.
"How did you know?" She asked him as she walked into the living room.
"You're not as quite as you think." He responded to her.
"Thank you daddy." She said as she gave him a hug.
"Just don't make me regret it." He told her.
"I won't." She responded.
"Now both your mother and I have to work late tonight. Do you have any plans?" He asked her.
"I was thinking about hanging out with Wells." She lied to him.
She knew that she fully planned on going to the party that Jasper and Monty where planning on having in the abandoned sector of the Ark that was closed for renovations.
"Okay have fun honey and don't open this door for anyone until Bellamy gets here." He told her as he gave her a kiss on the top of her head and then walked out of the door.
Clarke watched her father leave and could not help but smile as she thought about how Bellamy was going to react to the news. Not only was she going on a date with his best friend, he had to chaperone. And just to piss him off even more he was going to have to escort her to Jaspers party. Clarke just had to figure out in the few minutes until he got here how she was going to trick him into going to the party tonight.
