,,Hey."

I hear a familiar voice behind me so I turn around and my dress flutters in the wind. She doesn't look as angry as she looked yesterday when she left me in the hallway. She actually looks cheerful and excited. Well, of course, tomorrow is her celebration. There's no reason to be gloomy. She says that the nineteenth birthday is the most important birthday in her life. Although I heard from some of her acquaintances that she said that last year for her eighteenth birthday.

,,Hey.'' I return her greeting with a smile. Today she dressed colorfully. This is not common for Melany. Most of the time she wears simple and one-color clothes.

,,Did you ask your parents?" She asks the first question and opens the topic of conversation. She looks at me with a cheerful look as if she forgot about yesterday. Maybe that's one of her good qualities. She quickly gets over the quarrel.

,,I did." I raised my head and stared into her face. She looks at me impatiently. She wants to hear the details of our conversation. I don't know if I should lie to her and tell her that I was strictly forbidden to go out or tell her the truth. She'll believe it in both cases, I'm sure of that.

,,So, what did they tell you?" She asks lazily, and I smile at her mood. I know how she will react when I tell her what actually happened. I know he won't expect that for sure. I want to cheer her up and tell her that they let me go to her celebration, but on the other hand, I want to get out of it all and stay home and relax from the workweek in the comfort of my own home.

,,They said I could go." At least, for her, this is good news. I laughed at her and watched her look at me in disbelief.

,,Really?" She screamed so that the whole institution could hear her well. Everyone looked at us, and I tried to hide my face so that their eyes wouldn't eat me. She shamelessly jumps in place and starts to hug me, but I stretch my arms between us.

,,Don't get too excited, I don't know if I'll be able to come." I walk to the locker, which has something inside, unlike yesterday. I left some things after yesterday's lectures so I wouldn't have to carry all the books home. I was exhausted from taking notes and everything else that goes along with it. The last thing on my mind was to carry all those great books home. I think she would collapse in the middle of the city from fatigue.

,,Why not?'' She addresses me dejectedly and disappointedly, and I try to ignore unnecessary compassion.

,,I have an examination of my leg." I realize how much nonsense I just said and squint so I don't have to face her killer gaze.

Melany folded her arms across her chest and leaned against the cabinets in the same spot as she had done yesterday. She looked at me like I was the biggest fool she had ever met, and she had met many of them. At least I got some kind of title in her heart. The biggest fool she's ever met.

,,Foot examination?'' Suppresses a smile trying not to burst out laughing at the saddest excuse I've ever said. If I were her, I would laugh at myself too.

,,Why do you look at me like that? " I know very well why she looks at me like that, but I pretend I didn't say anything strange. She measured me from head to toe and burst out laughing.

I try to maintain an upright posture as I watch her convulse with laughter. I would love to join her, but I can't do that. I have to stand behind my poor excuse.

When she calmed down she straightened up and wiped the tear that had escaped her cheek from too much laughing.

,,First of all, you don't have any leg problems. Secondly, what normal doctor would order you on Saturday night at nine? " Damn, she's right! I stare at the floor and bite my lip. I'm making an excuse.
