,,I think I need some air." I say spontaneously. The bartender and Melany fell silent and their laughter died down. Their views are on me. I ignore their penetrating glances, pick up my purse and head somewhere where there is less noise and more silence. I slip the strap over my shoulder and get down from the high bar stool, being careful not to break my leg in high heels. My legs were already sore. Even though I sit all evening, these shoes are heavy and pull on my ankles.
I break through the crowd. The voices are getting louder and louder, and the loud music around me is getting unbearable. The way out is close, and everything that is happening around me is too much and it is becoming too hard to suffer. When I finally open the back garden, I get out into the fresh air. I inhale it with all my lungs. The walls of the club are so thick that the music is almost inaudible. Ivana's club is beautiful and luxurious. Everything looks nice and everything was perfect until that moment. Until that whisper. I do not understand. It sounded real as if that voice was really there. Why only I could hear him.
,,Did I imagine?" I say to myself on my chin.
,,You didn't imagine." Strands of my hair flutter from the night breeze. I am struck by the same bitter voice I heard before. Then I hear a soft noise behind me and immediately turn around. There was no one behind me. Just an empty street ate by darkness and a few dim lights illuminating it. At that moment, I began to shudder.
,,Is anyone there?" I try in vain to call someone, but no one answers. I turn to the door and reach for the doorknob. I walk back to the club leaving everything that happened here behind.
I approach the bar, but Melany isn't sitting there. I look around for her, but I can't find her. I give up on that thought and head for the booth where the other girls I met this evening sat. I sit across from Olivia and Veronica, and they are pleasantly surprised to be back. We start a new topic and together we immerse ourselves in the conversation.
I lost track of time. I had a good time. I had a drink. Okay, maybe two and three. I'm actually not sure because I stopped counting after the third drink. The girls and I played cards and laughed out loud. After a while, Melany joined us.My gaze wanders around the room until I notice something interesting. In a separate elevated room that connected the stairs to the lower floor, stood two men. One man was with his back to me, leaning against the railing, and the other man was standing opposite him. But I could not see the other man well from the first. He stood right behind him.
,,Andrea!" I wince and respond to my name.
,,What happened?" Confused, I look down at the girls in front of me.
,,Where did you go? Have you seen anyone you like?" Melany asked excitedly and glanced around the room. On the second I look at those two men, but they are no longer there. They left and now the room is empty.
,,Not really, no." I say and look back. Something really weird is going on here. I stared into the empty room. I have a weird feeling about this. For no reason do I feel the urge that drives me to go to that room. Although let no one there, I decide to listen to my inner voice.
,,I think I need to go to the bathroom." I get up and walk quickly through the crowd. People kick me, push me and beat me with their hands. They move their bodies to the beat of the music and don't pay attention to me. When I looked in front of me, I saw a woman collapsing on me. It all happened too fast. She slammed into me, and I lost my balance. At that moment, I felt a strong grip around my waist. In an instant, I was on my feet and with my back to my savior. I look at my feet and see male hands wrapped around me. My cheeks glow at that moment. I intend to turn around, but then he squeezes me even tighter and pushes me against his chest. I breathe fast because this reaction was unexpected. I can feel his breath in my ear blowing my hair.
,,Don't turn around." I freeze and my feet dig into the ground. The same male voice I've heard the last two times. He was real. The man behind me whispered to me. I'm not crazy. His hands slipped from my waist. I'm confused, but I still decide to listen to what he told me. I look straight ahead, stiff and frightened. A red bandage enters my field of vision, which he holds with both hands on each side. I roll my eyes and stir myself. I don't want him to blindfold me.
,,Trust me." He whispered. For some reason, it calmed me down. I calmed down and the bandage finished my skin. He tied it up, grabbed my waist, and turned me toward him. He slid his hand over my fingertips, feeling my skin carefully and with complete devotion. When he reached my wrist, he intertwined his fingers with mine and the only thing I could see through the bandage were the fuzzy silhouettes. His face was blurred, we couldn't see well. Why didn't he want me to see his face?
He grabbed my body with both hands and guided it to the beat of the light music. We danced together. I didn't dance for us, but with his guidance, it all seemed like a joke to me. The music was getting louder and louder, and the speed and dexterity of our steps fit the melody perfectly. His hands were all over my body. Arms, legs, chest, abdomen, and even face. My hair fluttered around my shoulders as I turned. I leaned against his chest and opened my eyes wide to see better. I still couldn't see clearly, the bandage was too thick. The only thing I could see was the blurry outline of his face. The music was loud, and all of us were fast, but we were slow. We spun, danced, and touched. Curiosity almost ate me. This man dances great, this is the man who whispered in my ear. I don't know what he really wants from me. This is a really unusual way to approach a girl.
,,Are you enjoying yourself, Andrea?" His question scared me to the bone. I try not to show it and keep moving to the beat of the music.
,,How do you know my name?" I whisper that only he can hear me. For a moment we stop and calm our bodies.
,,It doesn't matter how I know your name, it's important that you don't know mine." His words confuse me. Why doesn't he want me to know his identity? He is very mysterious. We sway gently with music that is slowly calming down. Between us is a tangible energy that attracts like two strong magnets.
,,Who are you?" I ask honestly. I wonder who he is. Men don't tie blindfolds around my eyes every day.
,,Don't ask questions you don't want to be answered." He whispers in my ear. I want to know the answer. His words confuse me even more. The music fell silent for a few seconds and we now hear the sound of chatter around us. He turns me towards him and draws my body to his. Our bodies cling to each other. His breath puffed out my face. His breath is fresh. It smells like menthol. My eyes are wide open and I observe well even though I can't see anything. I am completely lost in space. I was left at his mercy.
Unaware of what was going on around me, I waited for some of his move. I can't see anything and that makes me feel lost. The only thing I see is the blurry outline of his face. He is close and I can feel his breath on my lips. I panic, but before I can manage, his lips cling to mine. Taken aback, I try to figure out what's going on. I don't know how long he has been kissing me, so I let go and return the kiss. The feeling is weird.
Since I've never kissed before.
