I stand in front of a huge club. Colorful colors radiate through the windows and illuminate the street. I approach the large door provided for the entrance. There stands a column of people. They say goodbye to the guards and enter the club where Melany was holding the party. I turn on my cell phone and check the time.
Nine and ten in the evening.
I sigh and stand in line. In front of the entrance stood a large figure. I guess it's melanin's personal bodyguard. melanin's parents were very rich and could afford her anything and everything. I liked that she didn't use it to show superiority and wealth. She always told me about how she plans to start her own business when she graduates from college to invest and help hungry people around the world. I liked her plans. The faculty we are studying will help her tremendously in this.
I try to enter but the security guard stops me and extends his hand in front of me. I look into his huge hand and look up at his indifferent face. He didn't even look at me. He stared ahead. Although I couldn't see his eyes from the "buy abster" sunglasses. I take the invitation out of my purse and cover it with a small piece of pink paper in front of my nose. He deserves to look down at my hand. He recognized the look of the piece of paper, so he got out of my way. I nodded my thanks and entered the dimmed room. People were everywhere. My ears were overwhelmed by Rihanna's loud song "S&M". That song is like made for this place. I look around for someone I know. I feel lost. Like I'm part of a puzzle that doesn't belong here. It's like I'm an intruder.
,,Andrea!" A familiar voice pierces my ears in the noise of music and other people's voices. Unlike college, when someone gets stuck here, others don't react. Everything is noisy here and screams are heard from every side. I turn in the direction of the cry of my name. Melany makes her way through the crowd excited as if I gave her a new car or something. I stand in place and wait for him to approach me. She pulls my arm through the crowd. We approach a round bar table with high bar stools. A couple of girls were already sitting at the table. The girls watch me with interest as Melany draws another bar stool to the table.
,,Sit down." Melany ordered me. I do as I am told and sit down next to the blonde.
Empty and half-empty glasses were distributed to each person at the table. They stared at me like I was a doe on those hungry hyenas. Melany looks suspiciously at each of the girls at the table.
,,I'm Olivia!'' The blonde starts first and gives me a friendly and sincere smile. Give me a hand in friendship, which I accept immediately. I just look at her so she doesn't have to meet the looks of the other girls at the table again. They are still staring at me and that's why I don't like meeting new people. It makes me uncomfortable and I feel anxious.
,,Andrea." I introduced myself to her. Olivia looked at Melany. From the look on her face, I'd say she's trying to remember something. She doesn't let go of my hand as she gently pushes it up and down. We shake hands for a long time while she still thinks silently looking at Melany.
,,Oh, yes!" She remembered me, and a smile adorned her face all the time. The grip of her hand relaxed, pulling her back to him and resting his elbow on the small table. She turned to face me, took a sip of her drink, and set his glass on the table.
,,Melany told us about you, she said all the best.'" I look at Melany who laughs at me. All the girls relax and look at me filled. Suddenly everyone at the table became friendly. Besides these girls, I don't feel like a black sheep. They radiate warmth and friendship. Their looks don't pierce me like the looks of the other girls here.
,,Veronica."' The red-haired girl with big blue eyes stands on the ladder of a chair attached to her legs so people can climb up and extends her hand across the table. The freckles on her face matched her perfectly with the red wine dress. I smile at her and take her hand. She sat back in his chair and smiled broadly at me. I look at the last girl whose name I don't know yet. With a smile, he reveals his fixed brace, which he is not ashamed of at all. Because of her prescription glasses, her blue eyes look bigger and her short brown hair sits on her shoulders. She looked cute. I liked it right away because it's not perfect on the outside, just like me.
,,I'm glad I'm Lucy." She offered me a hand, which I gladly accepted.
,,Nice to meet you." My gaze flitted over all the girls staring at me relentlessly. Their gazes devour me even though they are not intrusive. I just wasn't used to so many looks and attention directed only at me.
,,I like your dress." Olivia looks at me with whiskey eyes. A smile spread across her face, tightening her cheeks as she watched me contentedly. I laugh shyly as I watch her perfectly tame, almost to death ironed blonde hair tied in a high ponytail. I'm pretty sure it's natural hair, without extensions, which is amazing. She seems to be struggling with her long shiny hair, which I envy deep inside. The contrast of blonde hair and a tight black dress was noticeable and a perfect combination of colors. She looks like a girl who threw a bunch of money on expensive clothes and a fashion stylist.
,,I didn't think you would come." Melany interrupted me, staring. I turned my back on Olivia and turned to Melany. I expected him to come on that topic. I knew she would mention that she was surprised by my arrival.
,,Neither did I." I picked up the decorative bag I had brought her, and she took it with pleasure with a wide smile. She gets up from a high chair and carries it to a huge table full of various decorative bags and boxes.
I suppress the words swirling in my throat and turn in my chair toward the girls. Melany came back after a minute and sat down with us. She brought a few more drinks in her hands to treat us. Fortunately, it wasn't enough for me.
We spent the next thirty minutes as if we were buried in chairs. We didn't even move from the table. We laughed, talked, we completely relaxed... We became friends. Every second someone at the table would lean his glass over his lips, everyone but me. I can say that I felt very distant because of it.
,,Andrea!" I jumped up in my chair and turned to Melany who upset me with her sudden unexpected howl.
,,I didn't offer you anything, do you want something to drink?" She watches me expectantly, ready to run to the bar for a new drink. The girls also inadvertently devour me with their looks. I know it's not up to her, it's up to me. I laugh nervously and turn to Melany who leaned back in her chair to get closer to me.
