❄︎ — chapter 2 — ❄︎

"Jang Hanna sunbaenim?"

The voice calling her name made Jang Hanna glance over to her left, where an old acquaintance was waiting for her.

"Oh Dongjae!"

He waved, and she pushed through the crowd in the airport terminal to get to him. Dongjae held out his hand, and she shook it. He dropped his hand and gave her a small, respectful bow.

"Good to see you again, Galaxy."

Meanwhile, back at the ANSP office, Lim Sooho was burying himself in reading about one of the latest espionage cases that had come to the organization's attention. He was debating with himself over whether or not there was enough evidence to bring the case to Lee Kangmu. Kangmu trusted Sooho to only pass on to him cases that were very likely to be serious, and Sooho was determined not to let him down or waste his time. In this business, time was of the essence.

The security gate buzzed open, and Lee Eungcheol excitedly looked up at the front of the room. His head blocked Sooho's line of sight, but then he sighed and returned back to his work.

"No, that's not Galaxy..."

Sooho glanced over Eungcheol's shoulder, and his eyes widened.

"Eungcheol-ah..."

"What?" Eungcheol asked, but his voice was drowned out by the sound of many chairs scraping against the concrete flooring as every single agent stood, at attention. Even Joo Gyeokchan got up, although he didn't look happy about it.

Which made sense. Joo Gyeokchan was never happy about anything, except for maybe ramen.

Sooho couldn't quite see over the heads of so many agents as he heard light but purposeful footsteps accompanied by several greetings of annyeonghaseyo sunbaenim, bows, and salutes. Eungcheol and Sooho also stood up.

Sooho caught the eye of the shorter, black-haired woman who'd just walked in. His hand flew to his brow in a salute, although he could hardly believe what his eyes were seeing.

"Jang Hanna noona..." he muttered as she walked over to him. "You're Galaxy?"

Hanna chuckled as the rest of the agents got back to their work. "I am. And you, Sooho-ya? I've heard about Taedong River even all the way in New York City."

Sooho's eyes widened. "You have?"

"Sooho-ya," a voice called, and both Sooho and Hanna turned to see who it was.

Lee Kangmu walked out of his office, but as soon as he saw Hanna, he froze in his tracks. Their eyes met for a split second, and Kangmu could feel his heartbeat rapidly quickening.

"Timjangnim," Sooho said, snapping him out of it. "Did you need me for something?"

Kangmu had honestly forgotten why he'd called Sooho in the first place as soon as he'd seen who was standing next to him. "Ah... anniyo, actually. I didn't know Galaxy was here already."
