IT HAD BEEN A FEW DAYS SINCE THEIR BATTLE. Alora was helping the Berkians rebuild the houses. It had also been a few days since she had washed her suit. She was currently living with the Hoffersons, who were kind enough to take her in since Gobber thought it was best to separate her with Hiccup (despite the fact that she had lived with him in a hut when they were dating). But, also because his mom was now living with him.
Still, that didn't mean her nightmares went away.
Screams filled the room as her laser vision shot through his chest.
Lex Luther was dead.
She avenged her mother, so why wasn't she filled with pride.
"Aly?"
She turned and saw Nia Nal looking at her. She shined yellow rays towards her and the girl snapped back to reality.
"Hey, it's okay Aly. It's okay," Nia said, comforting the sobbing girl.
Alora shot up from her bed and tucked in her legs.
"It wasn't your fault, it wasn't your fault."
Nia took the red kryptonite injector from her and threw it across the room.
"It wasn't your fault," she told her. "He knew that you were going to take it from the table. He's messing with your head."
Alora walked out of the house and flew away. She found herself perched on a roof.
"Excuse me miss."
She hovered over and saw her fiancé staring up at her.
"I don't know if you know this, but this house is the Chief's. And I'm pretty sure he wouldn't want to find you sitting on top of it."
She smiled.
"I hear he's pretty scary," he told her.
"I think you mean, scrawny."
"Scary."
"I heard he's scrawny and used his childhood ax as a paperweight."
"It was one time!"
Alora laughed as Hiccup climbed up to the roof.
"So, what's got you up this late?"
"Oh, you know, nightmares and all."
He furrowed his eyebrows.
"About what?"
She shrugged her shoulders.
"Things."
Hiccup didn't push it.
"So. . ."
"So?"
"How-How was your world?"
"O-Oh, it was fine."
There was an awkward pause that filled the gap between them.
"So, 'Chief'," she said. "That's. . . That's far away from 'Prince'."
Alora laughed.
"I guess I have to call you, 'King' now."
Hiccup scoffed.
"No."
She jokingly bowed in place.
"My King."
"Stop it!"
She leaned in and whispered in his ear, "No."
"Ah!" He used his shoulder to wipe his ear. "You know I hate that."
Then, a thought occurred in her head.
"Hiccup?"
"What?"
"So. . .since you're Chief — when we marry — will that make me. . .?"
"Chieftess?" he said.
Realization hit him.
"It would make you Chieftess."
A small smirk plastered across her face.
"So, I'd be Queen then?"
"Oh Rao."
"I'm gonna be Queen!" she squealed, poking his side.
"We haven't even gotten married yet!"
"Still betrothed!"
"Yeah, yeah."
"I'm gonna have the biggest Viking wedding the Archipelago's ever seen!"
"When you said 'I'm', you meant 'we're', right?"
"The fact that you think you're going to be involved with the planning is adorable."
"Then, who's going to be in charge?!"
"The gang."
"I'm sorry, you're leaving those guys in charge of our wedding?!"
"'Those guys' happen to be my best friends."
"I grew up with them!"
"Haven't you ever heard the saying, 'Happy wife, happy life'?"
". . . Fine," he grumbled.
Alora smiled and pecked his cheek.
"I don't know about you, but I'm feeling pretty tired after having to carry this conversation on my back."
"Ha, ha. Hilarious."
"Goodnight, my King."
"Goodnight, your majesty."
And that was the night that changed everything.
