You gave a small chuckle, but it wasn't really a chuckle at the same time.
"Hey, Mom, it's uh, it's been a while since I last visited... Sorry 'bout that. I've been doing good actually... I um..."
You clenched your jaw.
"I got into beacon. It's great there. I've met some great people and I have some awesome friends. Its great... I met this girl... I'm honestly crazy about her. Ah, yeah I don't know if dad told you, but I'm a solo team..."
"I never really feel lonely strangely, I mean at times yes, but... These awesome friends I've gathered."
Ruby, Weiss, Yang, Blake, Jaune, Ren, Nora, Pyrrha, Coco, Velvet, Fox, and Yatsuhashi all came to mind.
"I don't think I'll ever been lonely with them again."
You clenched your fist.
"I should probably get going... There's this tournament going on, Professor Ozpin has been torn if he'll allow me to participate or not... I'll be fine either way..."
Your voice was starting to break.
"Let's... Talk more next time I visit, okay...? I love you, Mom."
You turned and began to walk away from your mother's grave your forearm covering most of your face and your bottom lip quivered as you fought back tears.

"Yo." You said walking over to them.

"Hey Y/N, how ya feeling about not being able to participate in the tournament?" Yang asked

"Ce- wha?" Yang asked confused
"C'est La Vie. It means that's life." Pyrrha said
"Mhm. Mhm." You confirmed while nodding.
"So, Y/N wanna eat? It's on Pyrrha." Nora asked
"Sure."
You sat and ate with Team RWBY and JNPR.
"Ugh. If I barf I'm blaming you." Jaune said
"Oh! Aim it at the enemy!" Nora said with a mischievous grin
