CHAPTER 3

                           Decision to make

"Are sure about this Clavia dear? You will be all alone in that place?" Nag aalalang sambit ni Elizabeth sa pamangkin. "Yes tita. I have made up my mind na po." Malumanay na Sagot niya dito. "I don't need Doctors or anyone to come with me in that place. As long as I'm being careful, wala kayong dapat ipag alala." Pag papatuloy niya habang hinahaplos haplos ang kamay ng tiyahin niya. 

"But iha, this is not normal vacation for you that you will be going to. Mag papagaling ka sa mga panahon na ito. Sinong gagabay sayo kapag mag isa kalang doon, ha?" sambit niya Alfred kay Clavia. "Tito, if that's the case, then dapat katulong ang pasasamahin niyo sa'kin, hindi doctor", she protested. "Clavia, you have to recover first before asking us that. You can't nor we can't let you stay alone. Once you recover and can do things alone, then we'll let you be", Alfred said firmly in a final tone.

"But...", "no more but's, Clavia" putol niya sa sasabihin ng dalaga. "Iha, your tito is right. Once you get back to old self, then you can do whatever you want and that's a promise from us. Okay?. For now, we really can't let go to that place alone. And I hope that it's clear to you the reason why we want you to be there" malumay na morning paliwanag ni Elizabeth sa pamangkin habang hinaplos ang mga kamay niya.

Clavia couldn't say anything to object her because what she said is right. Although, she's already 27 years old, but due to her health situation, her aunt's family treated her this way, it's as if she was a child who needs to be nursed every now and then.

"Whose the Doctor then?", she asked out of nowhere. "You'll meet him soon once you get there. He's waiting for you, kaya kong ako sayu, get in the car already. Traffic pa naman ngayon insan", sabi ni William na basta basta nalang sumabay sa usapan. Siya ang mag hahatid ni Clavia patungong Townsville Village. It's a village where Doctor Aguirre owns. Pumasok na sa driver seat si William habang namamaalam nang lubos ang dalaga sa tiyuhin at tiyahin niya. "Mom! Let her go! Late na nga kami, plus maabutan na kami ng traffic!" Naiiritang sigaw ni William sa sasakyan.

"Mag ingat ka doon ha, call us when you need something okay?", naiiyak nahabilin ni Elizabeth sa pamangkin habang naka alalay ang asawa sa likod niya. "Yes tita, I will", tipid na sagot niya. "I'll better be get going tita, tito. Naiinip napo si William doon. Don't worry, I'll take good care of myself. Salamat po sa lahat", and with that she bowed down her head in order for her to express her gratitude.

They've been traveling for 3 hours now and the car is field with silence. She was wondering why William is so quiet this time the he even put a very serious face. "Ehem..." she tried to catch his attention.
"I've noticed, nag sasalita kana ngayun insan, that's a improvement", William said. "Yeah, I've noticed as well", tipid niyang pahayag sa pinsan. "Since when did it start?, parang kahapon lang diba? If I remembered it right, you started talking when you see that basket of daffodils. Why is that so?". Seryusong sambit ni William sa pinsang babae.

Natahimik si Clavia sa turan nang pinsan. 'Oo nga naman?', tanong niya sa isip. "Uhmm... I honestly don't know.." she replied meekly. She just kept it to herself that she was really bothered about that initials on the flower sender. It seemed familiar but couldn't just figure out when did she saw that.

"Have you seen the doctor by the way?", pag iiba niya ng usapan. She was waiting for his response but heard nothing. Lumingon siya sa pinsan, only to find out that he was gripping the steering wheel tightly. Tiim bagang lang itong naka tingin sa kalsada at tila ba walang kausap dahil sa lalim ng iniisip. "Hey, I'm asking you." She said while tapping his arms lightly.

"Huh..? Uhmm nothing, I just remembered something" sabi ni William. "Oh, I see", maikling tugon ni Clavia. Silence field the car once again. By this time no one dared to talk. The travel went on smoothly. "Insan, we're almost there", basag ni William sa nakaka binging katahimikan. Second later, no response from her. Nagtataka man ay nilingon niya parin ito, only to find out that she was asleep peacefully. 'Kaya pala walang sumagot, kasi tulog ka', kausap ni William sa sarili.
He was about to tap her shoulder when she remembered his encounter with someone. Someone that ruins his mood kaya bugnotin siya kanina pag alis ng bahay.

Flashback

William went to the cemetery as what his mother told him. While he was fast approaching on the gate. He saw a luxurious car parked nearby under the tree. 'Wow! Ang cool naman niyan' puri niya sa sasakyang naka parada. Upon reaching the gate. May nakita siyang bulaklak na nahulog sa hagdanan. 'Huh? A daffodil? Sino namang mag dadala nito rito?', aniya ng isip niya. He was about to pick the flower when someone pick it up already and to his surprise, he meet someone whom he despised secretly for a long time now.

"You..." they both said in unison. "Anong ginagawa mo dito?", tanong ni William sa hindi inaasahang taong makikita niya ngayon. "Ikaw? Anong ginagawa mo dito?" Balik tanong ni Eric kay William. "Dude!, long time no see, kamusta kana?, sila Tita Elizabeth at tito Alfred? Si Clav...", "cut the crap Eric!", William said coldly. "I don't feel good seeing you right now if that's what you want to here from me". Pagpapatuloy ni William.

"We were fine, though Clavia has to suffer a lot from her parents death and to your disappearance, but she was trying to live up her life in accordance to where she right now. It's been hard for her yet she never give up. She's been calling you instead of us na kapamilya niya! Don't you think it's unfair huh!?, pero wala kaming magawa kundi ang pakisamahan siya!", pasigaw niyang pahayag sa kausap.

"I know, that's why I'm here to help her. Kahit nasa malayo ako, there was no time that I didn't think of her. The last time I know is that she suffered phobia kaya ako lumipat ng bagong kurso sa kolehiyo. Believe me or not William, she was the reason why I become who I am today. And it's for me to repay her all throughout my life, and you know me well William, I never stopped once I get to like something that caught my attention and no one can stopped me, not even you", sensirong saad niya kay William at nilampasan ito.
"Oh, one more thing, I'll go ahead at Townsville. I'll be waiting for her there. Don't worry, I'll take good care of her just like how you treated her all throughout these years ".

End of flashback

"I'll give you the chance as of now Eric, but once you failed to fulfill it, I'll be the one to take her away from you", sambit niya sa sarili habang naka tingin parin sa babaeng naka tulog sa passenger seat.
