Chapter 3

Sockkit had followed Poppybloom into the medicine den, where Dustyfern was treating Violetkit and Beekit. "Are they going to be alright?" Poppybloom asked Dustyfern. "Yes of course they will be, Beekit only has a few scratches, and Violetkit only dislocated her back leg, ive already put it back in the right spot" Dustyfern assured the red and black spotted she-cat. Sockkit had gone back to the leaders den. Finchstar, his mother, and Hazekit and Foxkit were already out.  He laid down in the nest, curled up, and drifted off to sleep. 

Sockkit woke up in a starlit meadow. A gray she-cat with a light gray heart on her shoulder approached him. "Greetings" she mewed softly, her voice was like a mothers. "I am Fernheart, I was a warrior of your clan long ago" the cat told him. He opened his mouth to speak, but Fernheart started talking again. "I have chosen you for a very important prophecy Sockkit" Fernheart's gaze was kind but stern. "The Violet that glows at dawn, The mist that rises from the dusk, and the cat in white socks, will save the clan from the fall of the forest" Fernheart's tail swayed side to side as she spoke to him. "Tell your mother Finchstar. She must know..." Fernheart then faded away, and Sockkit lasped back into the darkness of sleep.

Sockkit woke up in the nest again. Oh yeah! He had to tell Finchstar what Fernheart had told him. He ran out of the den and over to his ginger, black, and white mother, "Mom!". "Yes Sockkit?" Finchstar looked down at him. "A silver cat named Fernheart came to me in my dream! She said uhh... 'The violet that glows at dawn....the mist that rises from the dusk, and the cat in socks of white, will....save the clan...from the fall of the forest" Sockkit told Finchstar. "A vision....." Finchstar murmured, "I'll talk to Dustyfern about it dear". "Okay mom!" Sockkit smiled.
