Forgiveness

Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned.
Forgive me as our bodies wrap together like twine,
chests pressed against one another so our hearts can communicate.
So my heart can confess to yours
the many sinful acts I have committed,
and want to commit,
with you.

Forgive me, Father, as I watch you give in to temptation,
as I listen to you whisper breathily,
It's alright, I'm sorry, please, forgive me,
when I was the one needing forgiveness.
As I hear you thank me
for dragging you down the path of sin.

And I will forgive you like you ask of me,
when you so readily place your lips on mine
and on me.
When I hear your labored breaths,
you curses,
your struggle to get out a single word.
When I hear you tell me:
This is as far as we can go.
