Section R is the special forces of the Fire and Rescue Police. Based on the Disaster Response Special Units of the Greek and Cyprus Fire Services, this unit has a personnel of 50 firefighters and consists of mostly light duty vehicles and heavy rescue vehicles used in forest fires as well as drones and helicopters. Its personnel is trained to go to dangerous areas and contain fires in places where the regular forces can't go. The unit also acts as the SWAT team, taking parts in anti-terrorist operations, thus making it the only elite unit in the company.
