Villanelle's pov

Villanelle couldn't tell how long she had lay on the cold, hard ground for but she knew that poor bastard really left her for dead.

Speckles of rain decorated Villanelle's skin, which hinted an incoming storm as she noticed the dark clouds that formed in the sky.

Every slight movement felt like an extra tear from the punctured hole in her abdomen.

The thought that crossed through her mind was whether Eve would care enough to come save her. Did she even know that she was on the verge of dying?

She thought how stupid she was to risk her life for someone who didn't even give a shit about her.

As every second went by, her heart began to hurt. Maybe Eve didn't care about Villanelle's existence after all. She thought she was probably just someone she used then hung out to dry.

The rain began to make its way down as a gust of wind sent shivers through her body.

She was counting the droplets, one... two... three... four... five... until there were too many to keep track of.

The pouring rain landed hard on her skin and the wetness started to slowly seep into her injury.

Not only had Niko tore a massive hole through her shirt, but also through the previous stab wound that was made by Eve.

She feared the thought of hypothermia, wishing she was in the warm embrace of someone's arms.

She pressed onto her open wound, hoping the blood would stop leaking.

Maybe this was reality check she needed. Maybe Eve was right. Maybe she was just a psychopath who was heartless and killed people for a living...

"Eve..." her voice broke, "please..."

Ten... twenty... thirty minutes go by and still nothing.

She began to lose hope.

Her body felt like it was already in the early stages of death.

She attempted to swallow the lump in her throat several times, but after a while, she could no longer hold it in anymore so she gave up and let the tears fall freely down her face.

"Help me please... someone...," she cried out, her voice barely audible. In the back of her mind, she knew there was no one around. Not a single car had driven past her since the moment she was stabbed.

Villanelle began to get angry at herself. She knew she was stronger than this but in fact a man may have won this time.

There was nothing else to ease the throbbing in her stomach, therefore she made the irrational decision to pull the knife out slowly.

She clearly didn't think this through. It wasn't as if Eve had ever tried to do the same to her.

This kind of pain was unimaginable. A loud scream broke free of her and it felt like absolute agony.

Her vision started to blur and she found it harder to breathe. Shortly after, blood began to push its way out of her mouth which caused her to choke acutely.

She never would have wanted things to end this way. She thought about how they both could have spent the rest of their lives together, if only Eve had given her a chance.

But she knew this was the last straw for her, she had done everything she could. It was time to let Eve go...

Villanelle looked up to the sky and spoke to Eve as if she was there with her for the very last time.

"Eve, I'm going to miss you... I mean I won't be able to do that when I'm gone. I've had many lovers but you were the best one. You understood me... you accepted me even for all the horrible, bad things that I've done. We are the same, I know you can't accept that but I think that makes us special and unique. I wish you were here with me, holding my hand till my last breath. I can go knowing that I died for you. Isn't that romantic...? Don't forget to look after yourself, you deserve to be happy. I'm sorry for ruining your life. Please forgive me. I just hope I made it slightly better. We've both hurt each other more than we should have, but... I forgive you. You made me smile in ways that I didn't think was possible. Ever since you came into my life, I feel like a different person. I felt what it was like to love someone for the very first time. It was a wonderful feeling... and I'm so happy that it was you that made me feel this way.

I love you Eve, I will always love you..."

Villanelle closed her eyes shut in defeat as she prepared for what was about to happen.

The rain was almost freeing for her. She felt at peace knowing that this was the way that she would leave this Earth.

Suddenly out of nowhere, a faint voice echoed in the distance. She attempted to lift her head up to see what it was but felt herself go unconscious, her eyelids growing heavier and she slowly slow-...
