"Baby, jus' lemme help you."

"Billie, go sit the fuck down. You're slurring your words, are you sure you didn't have a drink today?"

Billie groans in frustration, stomping away from you unsteadily to take a seat on the couch.

"Yes! I jus' tor... tire-d."

You look at her strangely, leaving the vomit and towels you were previously using to clean it with to instead walk up to the pale girl.

"What are you... what are you doing with your face?"

She looks at you like you're crazy, before laughing nervously.

"W-What?"

You touch her left cheek softly, as her eyes look over your face curiously.

Jumping back, afraid you've hurt the girl as she hisses, you watch her left hand grab her head while the other only jolts lightly in her lap.

"Fuck, m' head is killin' me."

A pang of fear hits you right in the chest.

"Billie– smile for me, please."

You're now on your knees in front of your lover, your face caring and calm despite the adrenaline pumping in your veins.

You watch the girl open her mouth to speak, before cutting herself off and just complying.

"Big toothey smile, my love."

Despite her best efforts, the right side of her face remains still, one side of her smile drooping oddly.

"Good job baby. You can stop."

F

You stand up, grabbing a pillow off the couch to hold over her head.

"Was' wron? Why... wh' yo doin? You okay?"

"I'm okay, baby. Can you grab this pillow from me? Use both hands, just reach up and grab it mama."

Her left arm immediately raises, but her right arm barely makes it halfway, drooping as she groans in exertion.

"Come on baby, both hands."

Her right falls lower, before dropping back into her lap completely. Despite this, Billie seems unaware of the issue, looking up at you innocently.

"Okay baby, good job. One more thing, okay? And then you can rest."

A

"Why're we doin' these?"

"I'm just checking for something, Bil. You're okay, just relax. Can you say this phrase for me? Repeat the phrase, 'Mary had a little lamb'."

"Okay... Mary had-ah lil' lamp."

"Good baby, one more try?"

"Mar' had-ah lit-ole lamb."

S

"Good girl, now can you sit tight for me? I'm gonna get my phone real quick."

T

She hums, nodding as she lays back on the couch.

As soon as her eyes close, you sprint to the bedroom, nearly tripping over your own feet as you jump for your phone.

"9-1-1, what's your emergency?"

"Hi, my wife, I believe she's having a stroke— please, please I need help."
