"Just make sure your home straight away tonight, Kayleigh!" My mom told me as I headed out the door. "Whatever!" I called back, shutting the door and walking down the path to Luke's car.
"Hey babe," He said as soon as I got in. "Hey." I breathed out. "Bad morning?" He asked, pulling out of the driveway and onto the road.
"Yeah. My moms been acting weird around my dad. I'm getting really worried about them." I huffed. "And she said she wants me straight home tonight." I added, rolling my eyes.
"Aww," He mumbled, kissing my cheek. "I was going to take you out tonight." He huffed playfully.
"Ah well," I said, smiling. "Tomorrow's available." I joked, scrolling through twitter. "Tomorrow it is then!" He said, winking at me. I nodded in agreement, laughing at bit.
My phone started to ring. I looked at the caller id. My mom? I quickly answered.
"Hello, mother." I stated. "Are you okay?" She asked quickly. "What? Yes I'm fine mom." I said, furrowing my eyebrows. "Good." She breathed out. "Just, wanted to check up on you sweetie, that's all!" She said with a fake laugh. "Oh- okay." I said. "Have a nice say, sweetie!" She said. "You too-" I said before she hung up.
"Now that," I said. "Was fucking weird." I said, locking my phone and putting it in my pocket of my jeans.
"What? What did she want?" Luke asked, pulling into the car parks of school. "She sounded worried," I said. "And asked if I was okay." I sad.
"Well there's nothing wrong with that." He chuckled. "No, Luke. Something's wrong with her." I said, getting out of the car. "Don't worry about it, okay?" Luke said, getting out and walking next to me.
He grabbed my hand and we began walking to our spot, by the tree just next to the football field. All the boys were already there.
"Promise me, you won't think about today?" Luke said. He knows I always over think things. "Okay, I promise." I said. "Good," He said, kissing my cheek.
"Hey guys." Ashton sighed as we came over. "Hey," I said, sitting beside him. "What's up?" I asked him. "Just tired as all." He shrugged. "Okay." I said, deciding to drop it.
I was about to say something, but the bell rang and we all got up.
I heard someone come bounding towards us. "Lukeyy!" She screeched.
"Ughhh." I groaned.
"What do you want Chelsea?" Ashton groaned. "Nothinggg..." She trailed off, looking at Luke. "Can I talk to Luke for a second, it's important." She whined.
"Yes." I stated. I hated her. She's always been trying to get Luke. She's obsessed.
The boys and I began walking to our classes. Just before I turned to corner, I looked back to Chelsea and Luke.
Chelsea was just talking, and then all of a sudden she kissed him.
She kissed my boy.
I stopped quickly. And started walking towards them.
Luke instantly pushed her off, and began shouting at her. She didn't even look sorry. I was already halfway over there when Chelsea stormed past me.
I grabbed her by her arm. "Who the fuck do you think you are?!" I shouted at her. She flinched at first, but then started smirking.
"I'll get someday, Kayleigh. Watch your back boo." She teased, walking away.
"Kayleigh." Luke whispered, making me jump. "Just- I need to get to class." I said, quickly walking to my class.
I couldn't concentrate at all. I sinked back in my seat. "Kayleigh? Are you okay?" The teacher said, making everyone stare at me. "Yes." I snapped. "But you-" She started but I cut her off.
"I said I'm fucking fine!" I shouted, making everyone jump.
The teacher didn't even have to tell me to get out, she just flickered her eyes to the door, with a disapproving look on her face.
I got up, making sure to slam my book on the desk and walked out.
I didn't even go to the principles office, I just wandered the halls until lunch. Even then, I just stayed in the bathrooms.
I decided to go to my next class, which was science. Only because Luke was it in and we were partners.
"Hey, where've you been?" Luke asked as I sat down. "Hey babe. I got sent to the principles office." I told him, getting my textbook out. "And they kept you all lunch?" He asked. "Yeah," I lied. "They said they were sick of me getting sent out." I shrugged. "Oh. Well if you-" he was saying but he got cut of by the speakers.
"Can Kayleigh Smiths please report to the principles office immediately." They said.
There was a choruses of 'ooohh' around the class and Luke gave me a confused look.
"Don't worry about it," I told him, picking up my stuff. "I'll be back." I said, walking out of the classroom.
Why did they want me now? What have I done this time?
I knocked onto the principles door.
"Come in!" She chirped. "Ah, Kayleigh! Your here." She said.I looked around. My mom was seated in front of her.
"I'll let you two talk." The principle said, giving me an apologetic look.
She walked out, shutting the door softly behind her.
"What's going on?" I asked my mom quickly. "We need leave." She stated.
My world instantly came crashing down.
"What..?" I furrowed my eyebrows at her.
"We have to leave. I've found a new job." She said.
"I'm not leaving!" I shouted. "Yes you are young lady!" My mom screamed back at me. "Why?! Why do you want to leave so bad?!" I pushed.
"Your father, cheated on me." She said with a shaky breath. "W-what?" I said in a small voice.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
"When we found out that I was pregnant with you, he went out with his friends. One the thing led to another, and he slept with someone else." She said tearing up. "Oh mom," I said, embracing her.
"But I can't leave, I have so many people here that I love." I exclaimed. "We have to Kayleigh, it's for the best." She said softly.
"No, it's not at all! The best for you maybe, but not for me!" I spat. "You are coming, and that's final!" She screamed.
"I hope your fucking happy," I spat, walking towards the door. "Your taking me away from the people who helped me get to be myself again. I hope you feel guilty." I told her, walking out the door.
I was beyond pissed at her, how could she take away what I had?
