C H A P T E R O N E
3 months before.
"Get up!" My mom screeched from downstairs, for the billion time in five minuets. "Fine!" I exclaimed, throwing the duvet across the room. "Stop throwing your duvet around!" My mom yelled while laughing. "Fuck you!" I wailed at her. "Language, young lady!" She scolded. I muttered some curse word under my breath and peered over at the alarm clock.
Monday, January 12th.
6:00 am.
Ugh.
I finally dragged my lazy ass out of bed and walked over to my dresser and pulling out a random outfit, laying it on my bed and then getting in the shower.
When I'm in the shower I think a lot, so I tend to stay in there for as little time as possible.
"Nadia's here!" My moms muffled voice shouted.
Nadias my best friend, and she comes over almost every morning, probably to get away from her parents.
I didn't even reply because I knew she was going to come up either way.
I stepped out of the shower and put a towel around my hair and one round my body.
When I walked back into my room, Nadia was already lay in my bed, in her pyjamas. "I can't." She said. "I know." I huffed. "Schools shit." I added. "No. Not that." She slowly.
I looked up at her, and she was gawking at her phone. "What?" I asked her quickly. "Guess who messed around with Chelsea Irwin last night?" She exclaimed.
The mention of her name made me gag. She was such a slut. I mean, I'm not one to judge when it come to people, but damn. She was a slut. She's always throwing herself at guys, even teachers sometimes. It was actually revolting how any of them could bang her.
She was the leader of the 'populars', according to her little minions, Chloe and Jade.
"Who?" I asked. "Michael Clifford." She smirked. Michael didn't seem the type of person to do that. He was quite quiet and kept himself to himself.
People often compared us both, we apparently looked similar. I could never see it, but boy they could.
I didn't really talk to Michael either, I'm in the 'popular' category apparently. Even though I don't want to, Nadia insists that it would help us both. So basically I have to pretend to be someone I'm not while I could hang with Michael and his gang.
lol wtf I could be a rapper
They seemed like pretty chill people, but they rarely ever looked in my direction.
"My dad wants me home." Nadia huffed as she stared at the text. "Are you sure? You can stay here?" I said quickly. Nadia's parents always fought and things were bad for her at her house.
"Yeah, it's cool. I'll see you soon." She said, getting up and walking out.
Great, alone again.
I was scrolling down my text conversations, which I never delete.
Right at the bottom, was a conversation I had with Luke about two months ago.
A wave of guilt came over me as I read the messages, it made me get shivers down my spine.
I knew what I had to do.
I realised what a bitch I was to him.
He needed me and I ditched him.
