Chapter 21 - Happy Birthday!!!

Natasha POV

I wake up a little over an hour before Clint has to go to work so naturally he was still in bed and I know that Hermione's an early bird so I give her a call.

Once she picks her phone I hear her voice "Good Morning"

"Good Morning... I reply and also add "Hey do you have any idea what time you two will get off work"

"Around 5:30 - 6, Why? Feeling like throwing our boyfriend a party are we" she asks

"Not a party just a couple of friends that's all and well since I'm not your boss anymore I don't have work might as well" I answer

"Don't you have the gig at the pub" she asks

"The customers can live a day without music" I answer

"So what do you want me to do" she asks

"First of all make sure he's not onto us then after work just make some excuse and come here with him"

"You got it" she says and I hit the red button on my phone to end the call

Hermione POV

I'm really excited for today because today's my partner 24th Birthday and today is also my first day at Department of Magical Investigations at the Ministry.

My brother and I have permanently moved back to London so has my partner and his girlfriend, so naturally Clint and I took up work at DMI.

He and Natasha are currently living in her apartment, now that I think about it I haven't seen their place Clint's birthday will be a good opportunity to see the flat,

I get dressed in a simple white blouse and black jeans, put on some natural make up, wear a watch, grab Clint's gift and head downstairs for breakfast

I go down and see Draco already up "Good morning.... I greet him and kiss him on the lips ...Marcus still in bed" I ask

"Yeah, so all excited for your first day" he asks

"More like terrified" I answer truthfully

"You'll do great" he says while handing me a plate of French toast.

We eat breakfast once I'm done I say "Well I should be off I'll see you in the evening tell Marcus I left"

"Will do, good luck" he says and I apparate to work I don't see Clint so I wait around for him in the next few minutes he joins me

Clint POV

After having my favorite birthday breakfast made by my girlfriend I was really late and since I didn't want to keep Hermione waiting I finish up my plate say goodbye to Natasha and apparate to work.

"Hey" I tell my partner

"Hey Happy Birthday" she wishes

"Thanks, shall we" I say motioning towards the entry doors

"Let's go" she says

Department of Magical Investigations, Ministry of Magic

We enter the morning briefing room and take our seats and wait for the 9 o'clock meeting to start and for the new captain to show up. When Natasha resigned from MACUSA she was the captain here for the holidays so even I didn't know who the new boss was.

A man of 5.9 in his mid-30's walks in a grey suit walks into the room and says

"Good Morning Everyone, my name is David Campbell and I'm the new captain of the Department of Magical Investigations also known as the DMI, welcome to your first day back from the holidays. So let's start"
