Third Person :)
Tommy was working his regular morning shift at Cat's Coffee, serving customer's, taking orders, doing as he was instructed by others. Although there was one thought that couldn't leave his mind, the one thing that wouldn't leave, wouldn't dissappear no matter how much he wanted to. That thing was his feelings for [Y/N]. It didn't click with Tommy. Tommy hated [Y/N] at first, he disliked him heavily, but now he has a crush on him, and he's angered by that, he's confused by that.
These thoughts pestered him so excessively that he didn't notice the fact he over-poured milk into one of the cups and was now pouring onto his apron and seeping into his shirt. "Tommy the milk!" Niki called out. Tommy awoke from his thoughts and quickly placed the milk down in realisation of his absurd actions. "Ohhhh fuck fuck shit shit, I'm sorry!" He cursed turning to face Niki; the milk dripping on his hands on onto the floor. The sight of the poor boy made Niki laugh in sympathy. "I'll clean it up now I'm so sorry!" Tommy rambled as he began to grab a cloth and disinfectant spray and start cleaning.
"Tommy it's alright dude I can clean up and do the order, you go clean yourself up," smiled Thomas he came out from around the corner. "Really? Are you sure?" Tommy questioned. "Yeah no worries! Go on, i wouldn't want to smell like milk during my lectures," he remarked. "Aw thank you Thomas!" He beamed as he left to clean himself in the staff bathrooms. Tommy cleaned his hands and took off his apron in hopes of cleaning the milk stains on his red knitted-jumper.
He grabbed a clothe in the bathroom, lathered it with soap and water and started scrubbing, not minding if it got wet, he just didn't want to smell like milk for the rest of the day. As he scrubbed the thoughts came back. [Y/N]'s embrace, [Y/N]'s smile, [Y/N]'s voice, everything about him captivated Tommy and he hated it, but he couldn't hate [Y/N] no matter how much he wanted to again, he couldn't ignore him, not because he felt guilty about leaving him alone with no friends but because he wanted to be with [Y/N], as a friend or more it didn't matter, or did it?
It took Tommy awhile to realise he was scrubbing for too long, and realised the jumper has a lot of fluff poking out of the scrubbed part. It felt uncomfortable, but atleast he didn't smell like milk anymore, but he smelt a lot like hand soap, and his apron still smelt like milk. After he cleaned both he realised it was almost time to end his shift, and that [Y/N] would be there to pick him up any time soon. He dreaded seeing [Y/N] now but not for the reasons you'd assume.
As Tommy left the staff bathrooms and went to grab his bag, he heard the soft voice of his manager. "Tommy, do you have a minute?" Asked Niki, her sudden appearance shocking Tommy. "Oh! Um, yeah...why?" He gulped, praying it wasn't something bad. "Can you meet me in my office right now? I need to just check up on you," she said, a bitter-sweet smile on her face. "O-Okay..." Tommy mumbled, admitting the fate that was in store for him. He followed Niki into her office and watched as she went behind her desk and sat down in her seat. Tommy averted his gaze towards the plants based around the pretty room and awkwardly took the seat across from his manager.
"So, how are you Tommy?" She quipped curiously. "Uhm...I'm f-fine," the blonde winced. "Am I...g-getting fired?" He sputtered. "Oh no! Good heavens no Tommy do not worry!" She assured as she smiled kindly. Tommy slide in the chair and let out a huge sigh of relief. "Thankgod..." he simply spoke. "No no, I'm here to ask you if everything's alright in your world Tommy," she simply told the boy. Tommy perked up and furrowed his brows in confusion. "You've seemed on edge all morning, as if something is bothering you, I was just wondering if everything was okay, if you need a break from working I can give you days off and still pay you while you're gone?" Niki offered.
"Oh no no it's fine! It's-" Tommy hesitated. "Well-" he couldn't shove out a full sentence, there was too much inside of his mind. Niki sat their patiently, giving him time to speak. Tommy had known Niki for a few years now, not from work, but from Wilbur. He and Niki are good friends and have been for a long time, Niki's always been kind and thoughtful, she's always been their for Will when he's been through episodes and had burnouts, she could be there for him right?
Tommy gulped anxiously and mustered up a sentence. "I-I've got a crush," he stated. Niki's eyebrows rised and a smile followed shortly afterwards. "Oh I see! What's she like then?" She asked intruiged. "Well-" Tommy choked on his words. "It's- she's not- I'm not-" "It's a boy isn't it?" Niki interrupted Tommy's voice. Tommy looked up at Niki with vulnerable eyes, he felt safe with Niki, he could tell her. "...yeah," Tommy mumbled. Niki sat up straight in her seat and went into thought, then looking back to Tommy. "Is this what's bothering you?" She asked. "...yeah," Tommy admitted. "Is it because you feel like what you're feeling... isn't right? You feel as if everything in you're life is now wrong and a lie because you've believed this one thing for so long?" Niki inquired.
Tommy looked at Niki then looked at his hands, gripping at his denim jeans. "...yes," Tommy hummed. "I just- I'm so confused. I've liked girls for all my life- it became my brand! 'Tom Simons loves women' that was my thing! And now everything's changing and I just want it to go away," he sunk in his seat. Niki stared at Tommy's sad figure, and looked at the jubilee flowers placed on her desk. "I remember when I first had a crush on a girl," she began, driving Tommy's attention towards her. "I thought there was something wrong with me, I thought I was ill, like there was a way to fix me, but in truth, I was never broken," she smiled as she held the flowers on he desk and played with the petals.
"There's nothing wrong with you Tommy, liking a boy doesn't make you disgusting-" "no no that's not what I meant!" Tommy retorted. "I know I know, there's nothing wrong with liking someone of the same gender, you know that, and you are changing, you are maturing and growing up, and this is all confusing for you because you weren't explained this or taught this," Niki stated. "You feel like a completely different person," she said, Tommy couldn't help but understand that statement the most. "But you aren't, no matter who you like you're still the same little kid everyone knows and loves," Niki said. "Hey I am not a kid," Tommy remarked, earning a laugh from Niki.
"You don't have to figure this all out now, you don't have to ever really, it's not necessary to know what you're sexuality is, but you take all the time you need to figure out who you are," she smiled. "...yeah, thanks Niki," Tommy sincerely thanked. "Anytime, and who's this boy?" She chirped. Tommy's face went hot with embarrassment. "H-He's a friend! And he'd never like me back!" He blushed. "Never say never Tommy," Niki winked. Tommy felt his phone buzz and saw a message from the boy they were talking about, notifying he was ready to pick Tommy up. "Oh! He's here I've gotta head to school now," Tommy explained as he grabbed his bag from the floor.
"Wait is he that boy that rides the motorcycle!-" "THANKYOU NIKI GOODBYE NIKI" Tommy cried as he smiled anxiously with a red face and left the office to meet with [Y/N]. He awkwardly trotted towards the male who was perked up on his bike casually waiting with a cup of coffee in hand from the café. "Didn't see you inside work today," [Y/N] remarked. "I-I was busy," Tommy stuttered. "If you say so, cmon, lets get going!" The male cheered as he placed on his helmet and waited for Tommy to hold onto his waist. "Do you want to go flying off?" "Shut up," Tommy flustered as he anxiously wrapped his arms around his waist, [Y/N] laughed making Tommys face burn up, he then started up the bike and began their course to the college.
