Third Person

[Y/N] was sitting during his lectures as per usual, sitting peacefully, and zoning out. He had been wondering--about Tommy--, wondering if maybe he felt more about him then just 'friends'. He and Tommy had been friends for almost a month, meaning their time in detention was almost over, which made [Y/N] upset. That made him realise his feelings towards Tommy.

The hug in the classroom meant something to [Y/N], Tommy's warm and vulnerable embrace made [Y/N] feel important and cared, it made him feel ways he'd never before, made his heart move at speeds he thought they never could. Maybe it was all in his head, maybe it was just a ruse his brain was coming up with just so he could feel necessary to someone, but he couldn't help it. He couldn't help but like Tommy like this. After his lecture, he'd realised he hadn't caught onto much and was going to have to go off whatever he wrote on his paper, he was getting sick of doing theory.

The day passed quickly like it always did, and [Y/N] went off to detention. He noticed Tommy was already there when he walked in, and was already cleaning surprisingly. "Wow you're cleaning without having me ask?" [Y/N] gawked. "Uh- um, y-yeah," Tommy simply responded. [Y/N]'s eyes widened in surprise, Tommy didn't give him a snarky comeback like Tommy always did. This made [Y/N] confused, but he didn't say anything and decided to just observe the other boy.

As they cleaned, [Y/N] knew something was up with Tommy, he could see it in his body language and his expressions. He seemed less aggravated and more anxious, or nervous, like something was bothering him, maybe it was his family problems, or school issues, or something else [Y/N] wasn't aware of. "Are you okay?" [Y/N] abruptly asked. His question made the other frazzled boy jump and turn to face [Y/N]. "Huh? What?" He sputtered.

"Are you okay? Like are you feeling alright?" [Y/N] repeated, waiting for an answer. Tommy looked into [Y/N]'s eyes, and for too long. He turned away and stared at his hands. "...yeah it's- , I'm fine," Tommy lied. "Tommy I know I'm not very sharp but that doesn't mean you can lie to me and get away with it that easily," The [H/C] haired boy stated with an all knowing expression. Tommy bit his bottom lip and faced the window to examine what was outside. He saw the campus grounds and busy roads laid ahead of him.

"Tommy-," A sudden voice appeared right behind the boy, making him jump and spin around to face [Y/N], who was awfully close. Tommy's face burned as he felt his cheeks pulse. "Y-You're very close!" Tommy awkwardly laughed lightly pushing [Y/N] away from him. As much as Tommy enjoyed the thought his enclosure, he couldn't let him get too close, he couldn't let himself become vulnerable. "Ah, sorry," [Y/N] caught on and backed off from Tommy, a decent amount of space now between them.

"Seriously though Tommy, is everything okay?" [Y/N] asked again. Tommy let out a hard and long sigh. "I'm just-" he began as he looked into [Y/N]'s eyes. "I-" he hesitated, the other boy not averting his gaze from Tommy's. Tommy closed his eyes and breathed in and out. "I'm just really tired from photography class is all, and we have a new assessment coming up, and if I pass i have to talk to some professional guy who'll put it up somewhere where loads of other big company guys can see it and it just-...yeah it's making me nervous," Tommy explained, it wasn't the main thing making him nervous though.

"Oh," [Y/N] said, he wasn't trying to sound so blunt, but it came out like unfortunately. Tommy sighed. "Oh indeed," he chuckled before laying his head on the window. [Y/N] looked at Tommy's golden locks that glowed in the sunlight, and admired his face in golden hour, as the sunlight bounced off his face and illuminated his blue eyes. He also noticed his expression, one of exhaustion and stress, one he recognised on himself.

"You always seem like something is bugging you," [Y/N] began as he laid his head on the same window Tommy's head laid. "Hm." Tommy mummured. [Y/N] looked at Tommy then down at his collar to avoid staring into his eyes. "So do you, but you never tell me what's making you tired," Tommy stated. "Well, you never ask," [Y/N] pointed out as he glanced at Tommy's eyes. "You're eyes look really nice in this lighting," [Y/N] blurted. The other boy seemed taken aback and embarressed to [Y/N], Tommy turned to face the floors and fiddled with his sleeves.

"...Do they?" Tommy mumbled, looking up at [Y/N] with curiosity. [Y/N]'s idle face shaped into a kind one with a sweet smile. "They do, they're like sapphires," he said. The blondes eyes widened, then looked away in embarrassment. "...whatever, thanks..." he mumbled. He looked back to [Y/N], and started to look into his eyes, his [E/C] pupils. They shone and glistened like glitter as the colour/s painted his eyes like a picture. Tommy felt himself fall into thought, a thought of staring into [Y/N]'s eyes for so long as [Y/N] stared into his, maybe even staring at each other's lips and leaning in. Those ideas made Tommy jitter away from [Y/N]. "Ahem, w-we should continue cleaning..." he suggested, turning away to grab the broom and walk away from [Y/N].

"Oh, yeah definitely," [Y/N] hummed.

The two continued to clean in silence. Tommy felt it as awkward silence as his mind screamed louder then a concert, while [Y/N] felt it as simple silence, although his mind was also scattered and scrambled. Around fourty minutes later, the two had finished, and left for the dorms. As they walked through the halls in complete and utter silence, Tommy thought about telling [Y/N] how he felt. It was ridiculous. Tommy didn't even know how he himself felt about his own feelings towards liking a boy, what was he thinking? As they strolled by, Tommy heard a painfully familiar voice, one he'd which he never heard again since the first time.

"Oh Thomas!" Charlotte chirped as she came out from behind a corridor at the side. "Charlotte." Tommy hissed, trying his best to hide his discomfort. Charlotte then noticed [Y/N], who was trying to figure out who the brunette was. "I-It's [Y/N] right?" She asked. Said males eyes widened in surprise to the fact that she knew his name. "Uh, yeah, Charlotte?" He mused. Tommy felt a horrible feeling of anxiety, annoyance, and dread. He didn't want them to get along, he felt as if [Y/N] recognised Charlotte, Tommy didn't want that. He remembers throwing away her phone number, the realisation came over him and choked him. "Yeah! I'm in your English course," she chirped. "Oh, right, although you've never talked to me," The boy stated.

"Well- I've always to awkward to say anything since I thought you where really cool!" She smiled. Tommy felt this was a lie, Tommy felt as if she just liked him for his looks, nothing else. "I believe you got my phone number?" She assumed glancing at Tommy. The blonde looked away with guilt and annoyance. "Um, no, was i supposed to?" He quipped. "Yeah actually," Charlotte looked to Tommy quickly with confusion. "Well...I wanted to say, well, This is so awkward," she chuckled. Tommy's heart stopped by her sentence. The way she spoke, what she was saying, Tommy begged she wasn't going to ask what he thought she was.

"I know this is really random...but, I was wondering if..." Charlotte stuttered. Tommy stared at [Y/N] whose face was completely confused, then to Charlotte's whose was embarressed or flustered.

"If you..."

No. Tommy thought.

"Wanted to maybe..."

No no no.

"Go on a well, a date...with me," she spoke. Tommy's heart dropped. He started to worry about [Y/N]'s answer, from the look of [Y/N]'s face, he was shocked. Tommy just hoped he'd say no, decline her offer then never talk to her again. Please please please say no, Tommy thought anxiously.

"Oh! U-Um," [Y/N] mumbled.

Tommy stared at him in worry.

"Uh...o-okay? I-I don't see why not?" [Y/N] answered.

Tommy's world shattered.
