A Love Triangle

Chapter 2

The weather was the same but not as chilly as yesterday night. Akira was pedaling her bike her muffler flying like a flag she attended Ark port Central Highschool.

"Damn I'm late again" pedaling faster she reached the back part of the school. Through the narrow opening of the wall she saw two boys fighting. The usual she thought and parked her bike in the bike rack and was about to go when she heard a groan.

She stopped short got back to the area and looked through the wall. Two boys one shrewd looking guy and another one was neck over neck with each other. The long haired guy had pinned down the other and was about to punch him when his hand was caught by a familiar face.

I nearly gasped. It was Matt from the night before

"come on Evans lets go".

"It's his fault" Evans complained clenching his fists.

"Come on not on your first day".

They left the guy and headed back to the school. I was a little scared of them now and decided to avoid them as much possible. The class had already begun and I was late. Our teacher with thinning hair and nearly bald with large spectacles hanging down his nose was furious for my late arrival.

I shut my eyes head low embarrassed "I'm sorry sir it won't happen again". Go take your seat he shouted. The classes continued till lunch break. I was scribbling over my notebook with mathematical equations. When a book was banged against my desk I jumped from my seat startled at the noise. It was Laura and her friends nagging me but Lily one of her friend was a kind girl she was not around today.

"Akira I need your help in chemistry can you do it for me" she asked in a sweet sarcastic tone.

Well umm...

"Well what?" she demanded.

Fine ill do it I replied cheerfully.

"Good for you" she said and went off with her buddies.

I sighed "that was close".

"Yeah pretty close "someone whispered behind my ear I froze. Awww ... you look so funny this was followed by a cackle of laughter.

It was Evans. "Don't be creepy". I relaxed so you in my class"

"yeah dumbo keep your eyes open, you were dozing in the English period".

I sat down to do Laura's homework.

"Are you not heading over" he asked.

"I am sorry but kind of busy you go on" I replied smiling.

"Oh so you're Arica right" "Akira". "Okay see you around.

I placed my hand over my head "now what". After finishing my lunch I continued with Laura's work. Her highness what does she think of herself and wrote all wrong answers.

While returning home I saw an SUV parked in front of my apartment and Lily emerge from it. She was talking to her porter who was handling her luggage. I stopped short and hid behind a tree peeping sideways. Lily walked up to my apartment. My chest began to beat fast "oh no is this for realize she going to live near me" I decided to follow her to check on which floor she was on.

I checked myself beanie on, muffler on and parka now I felt satisfied that I would not be recognized. I went into the elevator which Lily took. She gave me a smile and pressed the button for the fourth floor she was busy texting someone. After she went I pressed the next floor and entered my pad feeling giddy with happiness.

"I'm home" I called out realizing that mom was out. I closed the door took off my shoes carried them to my room and threw my bag on the desk and dropped onto my bed.

"I'm famished" I called out and tired smiled to myself hugging my pillow. I felt so sleepy that I went off to sleep.

I felt my phone buzzing and picked it up pressing the caller button 'mom' I mumbled in her sleep "are you at work

"Hey Akira were you sleeping" this is not mom I felt frowning.

A male voice spoke again "hello are you there".

Now fully awake I checked my phone an unknown number. "Excuse me you've called the wrong person"

Before I hung up the guy called out "hey wait it's me Matt".

I slapped my fore head hard

"Ouch"

"Did... you cut yourself Matt asked, NO... but tell me how did you get hold of my number

'From Jennifer 'he replied simply.

While getting down my bed I nearly fell holding myself upright I winced with pain. I had accidently sat on my hand. Hearing the clatter of my books Matt asked concerned "I hope you are alright!"

Annoyed that Jennifer gave my number to him I asked him "why did you call me "Matt spoke you know that there's a bowling contest in the evening.

"Yeah so".

" Soo I hope you're coming others will be joining in.

like who? I enquired taking an ice pack and rubbing my wrist.

" Our whole class will be attending" he assured me.

No sorry but I'm not for bowling I said massaging my wrist. I've got tons of work to do.

"Come on - you're not going to do the laundry dishes or cleaning up somebody's bathtub "he said sarcastically. Sighing he said I'm coming over get dressed. The phone went dead before I could say anything I switched of my phone and went back to my cozy nap.

A little while later the doorbell rang I got up my sleep and dragged myself to the door. I rubbed my eyes yawning mom you're...

Evans was standing at the door and Matt was in his convertible with his aviators on. Evans looked me up and down and whistled. I looked down going pink with embarrassment I was wearing black spaghetti and pink angry birds printed shorts.

He fell laughing looking at me are you going in that. I shut the door on his face and got into clothing. He knocked the door repeatedly apologizing. I reopened the door now annoyed for being woken off my sleep.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT" he pointed at me and back at the car.

I blinked at him. Sensing that I would deny the request he made a duck face "please Akira we need one more person to enter the arcade could you not come please" I got tired of his pleading he budged it with his shoe and called out to his brother "hey brother this girl is fussing"

Someone walked to my door maybe Matt they exchanged a few words their voices faded. I got anxious thinking that they would kidnap me therefore I hid behind couch waiting. Then I heard a soft purr Kewpie I blinked got up went to the door there was Kewpie in a basket with a note which read-

Hi Akira Matt and Evans want you to enjoy this evening as a token of friendship. Won't you come

- Kewpie

I smiled and looked up and saw Lily she looked amazing I joined them in the convertible. I felt a little awkward with these people whom I didn't know. I've never had friends ever in my high school. Meaning of friendship which I had long forgotten seemed knew to me Lily shouted "so off we go for bowling then" "yeah we chorused together.
