Chapter 3

A strange sound woke me up from my sleep. My window pane was rattling I got out of me bed and opened my window and guess who was making all the noise Matt. I rubbed my eyes to remove sleep and frowned.

"PLEASE let me in" he whispered loudly.

I refused him "no go away" I told him whispering back he made a funny face and sat down on the pavement with a stubborn look on his face. I checked left and right to see if someone was not watching.

"Matt please go home before someone comes by" I pleaded.

I don't care either you let me in or I'll wait here whole day.

I didn't budge and stared at him till a minute passed by sensing that I won't let him in he began to throw tantrums and stomped his foot like a child. I couldn't contain my laugh and called him. I opened the door for him

"What are you up to this late hour dragging me off my sleep and..."

He cut me short "Akira please listen to me I.... I...."

"Come on tell me what is the problem now I said exasperated and went to get a glass of water.

" Well I'm home alone you see...".

"Just get to the point ok Matt its 12 in the night and we have to go to school".

Don't act like my mother " he retorts annoyed.

" I'm not acting like your mother I have some issues at meeting men at night".

He cuts me short "OK here it is I can't sleep alone"

"What!"

"listen no one's home and I don't feel like being alone at home"

"Oh... that's sad where everyone go they didn't take you with them.... Why were you left alone".

I walked towards my room and gestured him to take the seat after he made himself comfortable. I began "so what happened".

"Now that's a lot of questions ill answer you anyway... my parents left to Arizona to meet my aunt Elizabeth she's having a hard time it seems"

"Wait I interrupted you mean your brothers here as well what is there to be afraid of maybe you hate darkness".

"Akira just listen he's not home if he was I wouldn't have bothered you, I don't know where he is please let me stay please"

"Oh no I'm not falling for this now with your puppy face on"

He began shivering. Matt ill bring you some hot chocolate don't fall asleep.

"When will your parents return I ask him from the kitchen pulling out some milk and some chocolate syrup".

"Next week I'll be here for two days I hope you don't mind"

"What are you telling me you're going to spend two days here" I asked him shocked

Matt smirks "just kidding". "I brought kewpie along to keep you company" he said. He began shivering again. "I need some warmth can you give me some warmth"

"Yeah ill make you hot chocolate"

"Where's kewpie" I said searching "Maybe eating your chocolate he said grinning

I lost my sleep and I'm annoyed because of Matt

"Dare you sleep in my bed ill get you some mattress luckily mom's not around" when I returned he was fast asleep on my bed

This guy is never gonna change if my mother was here she would have killed me for letting a boy in the house.

I was about to go to sleep on the couch when began mumbling in his sleep and grasped my hand, I couldn't make out what he was saying. I stood for a second trying to release my hold it was getting cold I made myself comfortable besides my bed.
