Romeo was growing impatient. He longed for Jamie to kiss him like he wanted but Cindy kept making up excuses. His hormones were way out of order. He was sitting as his desk when he got a phone call.

"A rebel you say? What's new?" He slouched back in his wheeled desk chair. "A Zane Longbourne you say. Son of Henry Longbourne? Oh no, we must get rid of him immediately. He is far too much of an inspiration for the rest in incarceration."

He spun around again as the person on the other side of the phone continued to inform him. "Oh, his sister? My father got rid of her when she was a young girl. She was sent to a home full of tailors or at least that is what my father told me."

"Oh yes, the old man is doing quite well. He is still not so happy that my sister married that man. The guy's starting to grow on me I must admit. He's not quite the doting idiot that he was before. Now, he is finally taking charge of his house and limiting where my sister goes. She is much too high spirited."

"Jamie is high spirited too. She's seemed to calm down now but I just can't seem to get anything out of her. I do hope she doesn't have feelings for this Wendell character."

"Ah yes, Wendell went to school with me — the know-it-all. He was a prized possession in college. Much to hard to get rid of — his research is too much desired. We'll need to convince him to make us weapons or something to kill off the rebels when I take over."

"Of course he'll agree. Money talks, doesn't it?"

"Well, we have bigger fish to fry than Wendell right now. As far as I'm concerned, he can stay where he is for now. Zane is a bigger problem. We cannot afford to let him roam free whether it is out in the open or just sitting in a cell in the Institution."

"How do I propose we get rid of Zane you say? Well, let's just hit him where it hurts shall we. Maybe we should arrange a family reunion between him and his sister. Perfect, right?"

"Yes, yes. I was born devious. Ask my mother."

They said their goodbyes and he hung up the phone. Zane Longbourne, he thought. It's been a long time old friend.

They let Zane out of his confinement in the isolation room. He was thrown in a new cell and they locked it snug.

"Don't even think about escaping this time," the guard sneered and then showed him his gun. "I won't hesitate."

Zane merely smirked and watched as the guard left to throw some other poor human being into a cell. Around lunchtime, Jamie came to visit him.

"Hey," she whispered. "How are you?"

"If you came here to find out if I missed you or not, then you're out of luck," he groaned.
