Chapter 2

School can be Cruel

Ringi quickly grabbed his bag and got up from the table. "See you later Bambom! Remember not to miss the bus!" Ringi called out as he ran out the door. "Bye Ringi!" Bambom called out as Ringi shut the door behind him, making his way to the bus stop and getting on the bus before it drove off. Ringi quickly sat down since the bus started moving while he was trying to find a seat.

"Jesus...I was almost late." Ringi said to himself as he felt the bus move over the somewhat bumpy pavement.

Ringi sat for a while, tapping his fingers against his leg while waiting for the ride to end.

It was only a 5 minute ride, and yet, it felt like hours to get there due to how the other people would scream, yell, throw whatever they could find, and even get into full on fist fights with each other.

Ringi hated it, but at least it was better than walking there.

Eventually, the bus stopped in front to of the tall, wide building that was Citadel's school.

Ringi walked into the cafeteria as he looked for a place to sit.

He didn't want to sit with any of the other kids, and rather would sit with a friend or somebody he knows, which unfortunately, all of them were sitting at full tables.

All that is, except for one table.

It was Dale's table.

Nobody ever sat with Dale, so Dale would usually sit alone until flexblock began.

Ringi smiled as he sat down in the seat right next to him.

"Hiya Dale! How's your day going?" Ringi said with a smile as Dale slightly jumped, surprised that someone had been sitting with him.

"I mean it only just started...but so far it's been going well." Dale said, straightening his back a bit as his face remained in the same, toothy-grinned expression.

"That's great to hear!" Ringi said as he turned his head up, quickly noticing all the eyes that had been staring at the two.

The room was eerily quiet as a huge crowd of people stared at them, making Ringi feel extremely uncomfortable just by the expressions on their faces.

Ringi just ignored it, as eventually, the cafeteria lighted up with conversation again.

"That was certainly weird...why were they all staring at me like that? All I was doing was simply sitting next to somebody." Ringi thought.

He quickly shook his head to shake out the thought as he reached into his bag and grabbed a bowl. He took his cat, Toio, out of his head as he poured cat food into the bowl, letting his cat eat while he waited for class to start.

Ringi was used to his friends making jokes about how he brought his cat everywhere. People found it somewhat weird, but he didn't mind. It was just more convenient for him. However, instead of even making a comment, Dale just stayed silent, although his attention was now on the cat rather than the table.

"Did you know that cats use purring as a way of soothing themselves in stressful situations or when they are injured?" Dale suddenly asked, breaking the silence between the two.
