Jacob's POV

I arrived home late that day and once I opened the door I heard whispering going on.

"We should tell him Richard I feel so guilty, we've been lying to him his entire life I cant do this anymore!" My mom whispered.

My mom and I were always so close but I've always known they were hiding things. In one minute shes fine then she starts crying for no reason. She always does that so I'm actually used to it.

While my dad and I aren't that close. He was always busy working or having sex with my mom, yeah I said that. They just loved each other so much. His free time goes to my little sister May and to Jamie my other sister whose just a toddler.

I never envy my sisters, they're the ones who need him while I don't. I'm very responsible and I can take care of myself and once I'm 18 after 5 months I'll just live alone, yea independent me.

I already have my own apartment anyway so it won't be a problem. My parents had May right after they had me. May is considered one of my closest friends, we never actually acted as siblings. We hang out together all the time. I'm gonna miss her so much when I head to college but I know that afterwards she'll follow me, just one year apart.

My mother, Amie, worked a lot to support us with food and shelter back when my father was in prison. He was a drug-dealer. Well that explains why we aren't that close. May isn't that close to him either.

My phone starts vibrating as I enter home. I turn it off so I could hear what they're saying. It's been on my mind since forever. I always hear them whispering and I'm curious. I have a strong feeling this is about me.
