~Jordan's POV~

I approach Waglington when he leaves his tower.

"Do you like Carter?" I question him.

"She's my apprentice." He answers. I get close to him.

"Carter is mine. Got it? You can teach her magic, but there better not be anything else going on, or you'll regret it." I growl.

"There is nothing going on between Carter and I." Wag's eyes glitter with anger. I scoff and fly off to my towers. He wasn't going to steal Carter's heart no matter what.

~Wag's POV~

Kevin Jr. wanders over to me as I watch Jordan fly off. How dare he threaten me over a girl! I don't like Carter that way...don't I? Shaking my head, I go back inside the tower to keep an eye on her. I decided to create a weapon for her, or at least ask Dianite for assistance. Going to the balcony near my room, I begin to pray.

"Dianite....Carter's father Mot was obviously important to you. If you care for him, please grant me a weapon to give to Carter, so that she may protect herself from those that threaten her...." I whisper. A sudden wind springs up and in front of me lands a rapier.

This sword is called Dianite's Judgement. It was her father's before he vanished.

Nodding my head in understanding, I pick up the rapier and examine it. Fire, repair, sharpness ten, and unbreaking five. It was made of adamantine. I walk over to her room, and open the door slightly. She was standing up, facing away from me. I'm not gonna lie and say her body wasn't attractive, but even so, I could see the places where her wings were.

"I can't do this to them...." I hear her murmur. Her hands drop to her sides and I see the book she had been holding. Friends and Enemies by World Historian.

"They're so nice to me and they only just met me....." She looks up at the ceiling.

"Mianite....please return to me my wings....I know I shouldn't be asking but if you want this deed carried out, I need wings." Her voice makes my blood run cold. She's working for Mianite? I can feel a tear slide down my cheek. Carter is playing all of us....

~Carter's POV~

I hear a creak outside my door.

"Hello? Wag?" I call out and turn around. My door opens and Wag walks in.

"Sorry but I didn't want to wake you." He mutters sheepishly. I smile.

"Don't worry about it. The pain is fading some." Her smile causes my heart to ache.

"I've brought you a gift..." He explains, and I give him a quizzical look. He holds out a sword to me. I take a step back.

"M-my fathers.....b-but.....how did you get it!" She eyes me warily.

"I asked Dianite to give me a weapon to give to you so you had something more than magic. He gave me this and told me it was your father's." Wag looks at me, sadness dwelling deep in his eyes.

"Wag....is something wrong?" I ask him, knowing full well he isn't going to say. He shakes his head and places the sword on my desk, and leaves without another word. Did I do something wrong? Anxiously, I chew on my nails; a bad habit I'd developed after my dad disappeared. I knew I had to kill Ianite soon....I couldn't live with myself if I let Wag die....

~Wag's POV~

I race out of the tower and find Tom. Even thought Tom isn't the best person to go to, I needed advice.

"Hey Swaglington. What's up?" Tom asks.

"I need some advice honestly."  I reply.

"Okay shoot." He looks at me.

"So what would you do if you knew someone was about to betray you and worked for an enemy?" My voice falters.

"Well....if I really cared for this person I'd stop them. Depending on the person, it could be that they were forced." Tom muses. I sigh in defeat and hand him some tea.

"Thanks Tom. See you." I tell him and return to the tower. Carter is out on the tea balcony, and I can hear her crying.

"Wag...I know your there." She calls out. I wander over to the ledge and stand next to her.

"Wag....what would you do if someone was forcing you to do something you didn't wanna do? What if they threatened to kill someone you cared about?" She asks. Things click in my brain. Mianite threatened to kill her father if she didn't do what he told her to.

"Well...I would enlist the help of my friends. Even if you think they won't like it, it's better to tell the truth than to let it ruin everything." I reply, choosing my words carefully. She turns to me.

"What if someone threatened to kill your best friend if you told anyone?" She whispers. I hug her close.

"I'll save you from Mianite...I promise...." I murmur and hold her close. She pulls away and I wipe her tears.

"Now smile Carter. You're too beautiful to be sad." I laugh and help her up. She smiles and we head to the front of the tower. Jordan is there, probably waiting for Carter.

"Hey Carter....want to finish our date since it was interrupted?" He asks her.

"Um...sure....I don't see why not." She smiles at him. He offers her his hand and she looks at me, as if asking permission. I nod to her and she takes his hand, and off they go. Jordan walking with her now that flight is no longer an option. Heading back into the tower, I decide to work on a new spell. When I arrive in my room, I find Martha waiting.

"Waggles! I'm so happy you're here. I need to talk to you." She says, an urgent tone in her voice.

"I'm all ears." I reply as I gather things for my spell.

"Carter is dangerous, and needs to be detained." Martha states. My breath gets caught in my throat.

"What do you mean?" I inquire.

"Something is off about how easy it was to rescue her. There were no guards.....almost as if Mianite wanted us to find her....she could be working for him." Martha's voice takes on a dangerous tone.

"Maybe she's being forced to do something because she was threatened! You don't know what's going on Martha." I growl. Martha sighs, and disappears. I hope Carter finds a way out...and soon. She deserves to be happy....but I can't protect her forever.
