(POV: you read this a thousand times already and know full well what y/n stands for)

It was a sunny day today, you had just moved in recently and decided to explore the area a little more! To get to know your surroundings.

I zipped up my bag as I stride towards the front door, unlocking it I heard a faint click.
I twisted the doorknob as I stepped out onto the sunny porch, breathing in the fresh gentle air that flows freely.

Over in the distance you see a large cornfield, like, really large- seeming to extend to an endless distance reaching as far as the eye can see.
You decided to check it out, and maybe have a chat with the owner about it! I mean- well, just look at it! It's HUUUGEE!! Might be the biggest cornfield in the world!

So, you set off on your journey, it looked to be quite a long way away.

*timeskip*

After what seemed to be 10 years, you finally approached the cornfield wearily as your legs finally gave out.

"If.. only.. I had.. a driver's license.." you huffed, attempting to catch your breath.

"Never.. again.." You exhaled breathlessly

"What are you doin in ma property!??"

A loud voice boomed just a few metres from where you stood, you look around hastily, to no avail was there a single figure in your sight

You wiped a bead of sweat as you look around some more for the source of the voice.

Looking down you noticed a rather.. short man- unbelievably short.

"Who the hell are you?? "
"ARE YOU HERE TO STEAL MA CORN??" He accused.

"No no! I'm not here for your corn! By any chance.. are you perhaps the owner?" I countered.

"Yeah, I'm the owner, so what? Ya got a problem with that?" He retorted.

"Err- I just wanted to say.. that's alotta corn! How long does it take for you to grow all that? Must be tough work! I'm sure you have a few helpers! Must be alot considering how much corn grows here! I live a few thousand blocks down, I'm y/n! soooo.. what's your name?" You say, clasping your hands together.
(If only they knew he works alone 👀 👀)

He thought for a moment before speaking up.

"...The names Bambi. That's all I'm tellin ya." He looked away in uncertainty.

Then, a phone rang, it was Bambi's.

"Ughhhh.. one sec lemme take this real quick." He spoke before walking away and bringing the phone to his ear.

...A few moments later he returned.

"bye." He spoke as he walked off again.

'Wait- what!?? I did NOT just come all this way to know JUST his name- and now he's leaving???'

Before Bambi could walk off any further you stepped in-front of him.
"Hold it there Mr Bambi, you weren't thinking of leaving me there, were you??"

"What do you want??" He growled.
"Why don't we keep in contact? Y'know, so I don't have to run all the way here-"
"...will you leave me alone?"
"Sure as can be, I'll leave you alone like how my ex left m-"

You both exchanged numbers and left each other for the day.

*timeskip to a few years later*

"Hey Bambi!" You giggled, hugging him from behind, He tensed up at first, before softening into the touch. "WHO- Oh.. Hey Y/n!" He ruffled your head.

"Wanna hangout with me today?" You smiled.
"Sure, I don't have any other plans, I've already takin care of my crops."
"Sweet!"

You both chilled in the barn as Bambi lended you corn, eating his own already.
"Soo uhhh.. what're you gonna do after thi-?"
"Y/n." He interrupted.
"Yeah..? What is it Bamber?" You questioned, curiosity already peaked your interest.
You watched as he lowered his hat and turned away- wait, was that a blush? Nahhh your probably just imagining it.

Not long after, all was silent.

"Y/n.. I- IloveyousomuchyouliterallymeantheworldtomeIwaswonderingifyoulikedmeback-Itsokaythoughyoucandecline.."

"Bambi- I didn't quite catch on.. could you say that again?"

"I.. " He turned to face you, blushing intensely.
"I like you. A lot." You could feel your cheeks warm up.
"A-As a friend?" You flushed.
"As a lover.. though it's okay if you don't feel the same wa-"
Before he could say any more, you smooched him on the lips as his eyes widen in surprise.

"Bambi! Why haven't you been answering my calls you left your gate open too- er.. Am I.. Interrupting something?"

"Dave!" Bambi pouted before throwing a corn at him.

"...I'll take my leave now- tell me all about it when your done!" He said, catching the corn before rolling away in his wheelchair.

You laughed as Bambi progressively grew more embarrassed, you hug him from behind, slowly calming him down before he nuzzled into your warmth.

"What a softie.." you smiled.
