"Hwang Hyunjin! Are you listening to me?" All students turned around to the boy with long blond hair, who just got called out by the teacher. His brown eyes were focused on a little sketchbook in front of him. As far as I know he never really pays attention to class, so I'm a bit surprised that our teacher mentioned it today. "Hwang Hyunjin! Would you mind listening to me? Or is my lesson that boring to you?"

Hyunjins answer got interrupted by the other students packing up their things. Most of them were happy that our teacher spent the last few minutes of the lesson with something other than teaching, whatever he was talking about before. I wasn't really paying any attention to him myself. I looked at the few doodles I did today before putting all my stuff into my bag.

"Before you go, please search for a partner who you want to work with in the next lesson." No one really listened to the teacher anymore and I decided to just wait until someone asks me to be their partner or I'm just gonna work with the last person left.

During the lunch break, I usually sit alone at a table somewhere in a corner of the cafeteria and draw. But when I took my sketchbook out today I didn't have anything to draw. Normally I continue one of the doodles I did during class but the ones I made today weren't good enough. I sighed and just stared at the paper in front of me. Suddenly someone sat down on the seat next to me. The person didn't say anything. I slowly turned my head to the side and looked at Hyunjin. HWANG HYUNJIN sat beside me! To be honest I had a crush on him for a while now but we never really got to talk to each other. Until now I thought that he didn't even know my name.

I continued to stare at him while he was eating lunch. Hyunjin didn't do a thing to acknowledge that I was also sitting at this table. At this point, I even doubted that he noticed me, so I turned back to the sketchbook in front of me and finally started drawing something. I tried to ignore him but I could feel him looking at me after a few minutes. Eventually, I sighed and turned my head back to him. Hyunjin still didn't say a word, just looked at the sketch I made. The fact that he didn't say anything made me a bit nervous.

"It's just a little sketch that I started a few minutes ago." Hyunjin finally looked at me.

"I know, I sat beside you when you began drawing it."

"Oh yeah right." Well, I guess he doesn't want to talk.

I put my sketchbook back in my bag at the end of the break and the moment I wanted to stand up, Hyunjin finally decided to say something. "We're gonna be partners" I looked at him confused. Okay, that was not what I expected.

"Says who?" I raised an eyebrow as I looked at him. "What if I already have a partner?"

"I said it. Plus you were the entire break here and you don't have any friends, so I'm pretty sure that you don't have a partner yet." He flashed a smile at me before leaving.

Huh? What was that? I mean he was right with everything he said. But I'm still not entirely sure if I should maybe feel a bit insulted about the fact that he thinks that I don't have any friends. I shrugged and left the cafeteria as well.

The rest of the day passed as usual. I went to the library to study and when I came back home I cooked dinner for my father and me. My dad was still at work but I want to help him as much as possible with the household. I put his dinner into the fridge, so he could eat it later and went to my room to do my math homework.

After some time I gave up. I'm normally not bad at school but there are a few subjects that just don't make any sense to me. One of them being maths didn't help. The notification tone of my phone took my attention. I got three messages from my Dad.

Dad
I have to work a little longer today
Dad
I think you will already be asleep when I'm home
Dad
Don't stay awake too long today, love you!

Me
Okay, love you too

I sighed. I lived alone with my father and I could only imagine how hard it must be for him. He has two jobs to pay the bills for our house. But somehow he still manages to spend time with me. Dad always says that he doesn't want me to work already, even though it would help him a lot. That's why I try to help him as much as I can at home.

"Oh no no no, how did this happen?" I looked at my phone in disbelief. It was already 7:30, I'll never reach school in time. I packed all the important things for school into my bag in a hurry and left the house. I decided to walk to school since the next bus would only come in eight minutes and I can't afford to spend any time waiting.

I knocked at the door to our classroom. "Come in!" I heard our teacher shouting from inside. "Y/n, you're late." the teacher sounded surprised. I could easily see that she didn't have a good day. Sadly I'm the one who is late and has to stand in front of her right now. "You are going to clean the classroom after the school is over today" I bowed and went to my seat.

"Perfect" I mumbled and rolled my eyes in annoyance. Just because I'm 20 minutes late.

I jealously watched the other students as they left the school after the last lesson was over. The room wasn't as dirty as it is normally, which means I won't have to clean much. A little book on one of the seats in the back caught my attention. It turned out to be Hyunjins sketchbook. And I know how much I hate it when someone looks into my sketchbook but I was too curious about the things he was always drawing during class.

I was shocked when I looked through the book. Hyunjin was so talented. This wasn't the thing that surprised me the most though but the fact that he drew me! Hwang Hyunjin drew me! This is insane.

"Are you finished?" I was startled when I suddenly heard his voice behind me.

"Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't want to be rude" I handed Hyunjin the sketchbook over.

"Did you look at all the drawings inside"?" He asked, seeming a bit shy. As an answer, I just nodded. "Oh. Uhm I only drew you that often because you sat in front of me." Hyunjin said while looking everywhere but my eyes, before he sighed. "Okay, I can't even believe that myself." He took a deep breath. "You know, I really like you and every time I look at you, I feel inspired to draw. I wanted to ask you out for a while now but I was too shy to actually do that. So if you want to, would you go on a date with me? You don't have to if you don't want..."

My eyes widened. Is this really happening right now? I'm not dreaming, right? "I-I like you too. And I would love to go on a date with you." I said and shyly smiled at him.
