Rami P.O.V.

As soon as I answered my phone, I was greeted by my parents shouting "Happy birthday, baby girl!". I could feel their enthusiasm through the phone.

"Thank you, mom and dad!" I laughed while James was smiling at me and Ezra was holding back a smile, but the twitching corners of his mouth were indicating something else.

"We are sorry we couldn't call you earlier but things have been kinda hectic around here for the past couple of days." my mom apologized.

"It's not a problem, mom. I know how busy you can get and I'm just happy I was able to talk to you. Now, tell me about the new place you live in!"

"Well, right now, we are in Greece. To be precise, we are in Mytilene and are working in a hospital that had a shortage of staff. The people are very nice, and don't even get me started on the food that tastes more than amazing. I also love how the beach is within walking distance..." my mom started rambling, but was soon interrupted by dad.

"Love, I know you are excited but Rami must be watching a film with Elise. You know how they get every year on Rami's birthday."

"Oh, sorry, sweetie. I got carried away. Now that your dad mentioned, can you put Elise on the phone for a moment?"

"Uhhh...she is in the bathroom." I hastily said while Ezra was smirking, and James was trying not to laugh when I got flustered.

"Then tell her to call me when she has time." my mom asked me.

"Of course I will. Goodnight, mom! Goodnight, dad!"

"Goodnight, sweetie!"

"Goodnight, babygirl!" my dad said while hanging up.

As soon as the call ended, James started laughing and Ezra started chuckling.

"You are such a bad girl! Going and lying to your parents about where you are!" James said while laughing with tears and trying to breathe.

"I wasn't expecting that, miss "I want to make my parents proud so I will study myself to death"."

"It's not like that...don't make it sound like I've never lied to my parents." I said with a pout.

"Oh, this is getting interesting. Enlighten us, please. When have you ever lied to your parents?" Ezra asked with fake innocence.

"Well, they don't know about Cameron." I said confidently but then remembered what happened before they came.

"What's wrong?" James worriedly asked, seeing as my mood did a 180.

"It's nothing, really. I just remembered something."

"Did that bastard do something to you?" James angrily asked.

"No. He just cheated, that's all. He didn't hurt me or anything."

"Just cheated?! Are you for real right now?" James asked while Ezra was listening to what I had to say.

"What am I supposed to say? That yes, it hurt when a girl came out of nowhere and acted like she was his girlfriend? That even though we were dating for just a month and it wasn't anything serious I still feel like shit? That even though I know that people have bigger problems than me, I'm still crying over something so stupid?" I asked while beginning to sob.
