Baby Yesung

No one's POV

The little one squirms in his crib. He is wearing white pajama and a baby blue blanket is covering his body - days are getting warmer, but nights are still chilly.

Yesung opens his eyes and blinks a few times before realizing something weird. He isn't in little space. This is very unusual for him and it makes him upset. Yesung wonders what forced him to wake up big, but then the door silently opened. Siwon peeks inside, already dressed in his casual clothes he wears to work.

"Hello, kitten."

Yesung lies on his back and looks at Siwon who smiles and gently grabs him under armpits. Yesung squeaks in fear when Siwon picks him up so easily and fast. Siwon pats his back and then puts him down on the changing table. His diaper is wet and Yesung feels it now. Siwon easily takes it off and throws it in a little trash can next to the changing table. A cold wipe runs across his skin and Yesung squirms a bit. Siwon closes a fresh diaper around his waist and picks him up. Siwon walks in the main bedroom and Heechul walks out of the bathroom with freshly washed hair.

Yesung is shy. He doesn't want to cling to Heechul too much. He isn't in little space right now, he isn't a cute little baby, maybe he isn't allowed to be clingy. Heechul sits him in the highchair and Yesung looks around. Today's breakfast is a quick yoghurt with granola and Yesung gets a sippy cup with smiling bees on it. He takes a sip of the orange juice and watches Siwon who eats in hurry and then leaves.

Yesung is slowly eating the yoghurt so Heechul leaves him alone and washes the dishes. After breakfast, Yesung is freed from his highchair and he goes in the living room. Cartoons are still funny even if he is big. After a while of watching cartoons, Yesung gets restless. He hates being big! Yesung desperately wants to be little again, but he doesn't know how. He guesses he needs to wait. Yesung crawls in his little tent and sighs. Yes, this small and safe space is much better.

The world around them is terrifying. Wars, abuse, screaming and cursing ... Yesung doesn't want to be big because being big means he has to deal with such bad things and feelings. When he is in little space feeling like a little toddler then no one can want him to deal with such harsh things.

Heechul finds it weird that Yesung is so silent. The silence is unsettling so he goes to see what is going on in the living room. He finds Yesung in the tent and kneels down next to it.

"Hello? Can mommy squeeze inside?"

Yesung just shrugs so Heechul forces his body to bend enough to fit inside the tent. He wraps one arm around Yesung's shoulder and smiles at him.

"Mommy knows the best way how to chase sadness away."

Heechul tightly hugs his baby and strokes his soft hair. Heechul kisses Yesung's cheek and smiles.

"What about ice cream?"

Heechul pulls out a box with waffles cones and takes one before putting two scoops of chocolate ice cream inside. Then he finds M&M's and puts a few on the top. Yesung doesn't know why, but ice cream always helps him to feel better. Heechul hands him the cone and Yesung licks the cold treat. No matter if he is big or little, he likes ice cream. Heechul takes his little hand in his and they go on the terrace. Heechul sits down on rattan sofa and pulls his baby in his lap.

"Do you like it?"

Yesung nods and let Heechul to pull him even closer to his chest. Heechul starts playing with his hair and Yesung sighs. Heechul is calming down his overthinking brain. Yesung feels a bit weird, he isn't feeling little right now so it is weird to be babied like this. But he likes it so much! He doesn't need to worry about anything - mommy and daddy take care of everything and he wants them to take care of him.

Heechul is patting his back and makes sure the ice cream isn't dripping on his or Yesung's clothes and then calls Bugsy because the dog is annoying birds. Bugsy runs to them and stares at Yesung's ice cream. He hopes the little one will drop it, but he isn't lucky. Heechul has to take care of their vegetable garden and Yesung stays on the sofa. Yesung lies down and Bugsy jumps next to him. The dog is his second best friend - right after Ryeowook. Yesung plays with Bugsy's ears and tail and finally feels he is slipping in his little space.

Siwon comes home quite early today, he is glad he could leave his office early and can go home to enjoy his family. The house is empty, but he hears voices coming from the garden. He finds Yesung on a sofa on the terrace and laughs. Poor Bugsy looks like he wants to run away, but the animal also loves Yesung so he stays to make him happy. Siwon picks up his little one and kisses his cheeks.

"How are you doing?"

Yesung squirms a bit and watches the dog who runs to rest somewhere. Heechul is done watering his plants and vegetable and nows hurries to his husband. He kisses Siwon and goes to prepare a quick dinner.

After dinner is the best time to cuddle. They sit outside and listen to the birds singing. Yesung is hugging his daddy with head on his shoulder and enjoys the warm hand pressed between his shoulders. Siwon notices it is quite late, Yesung should get ready for bedtime. He goes in the nursery and unfolds a blanket on the changing table. Yesung whines when he is laid down, but then Siwon wraps the right corner over him and tucks the end of the blanket underneath him. Then he brings the bottom corner of the blanket up over his feet and wraps the left corner over him. Siwon smiles at his little burrito and puts Yesung in the crib. Yesung sucks on his pacifier and wriggles a bit. He is warm and comfy ... being swaddled always makes him sleepy. Siwon leaves shortly after Yesung falls asleep and goes to open a bottle of wine. The couple sits on the terrace, drink wine and just enjoys a bit of time without being worried about their baby.
