Over the next few days, Benjamin and Wanda had learnt more about each other. He didn't want to admit it but he enjoyed her company. He was healing and starting to move around without being in as much pain. He had small conversations with Khonshu who kept trying tp convince him to go to the Temple of the Gods. He still didn't know the whole truth about Wanda. She still hadn't given him her last name so he didn't know of the powers that she possessed.
He was out walking around the lake while Wanda took this opportunity to further study with the dark hold. She felt the power it held over her and it corrupting her. Even Khonshu could feel it but kept it from Benjamin. When Benjamin walked back inside the cabin Wanda quickly put the book away with her astral projection.
"Hey, how was your walk?" She asked as he walked inside taking off his boots.
"It was nice and peaceful." He said as he got himself a drink of water. She watched as he drank admiring his sharp jawline and cheekbones. He looked like DaVinci's theory of pefection. She didn't understand how someone could be so handsome.
"Well would you like some lunch?" She asked him as she went back to her task.
"Yeah sure. What are we having?" He asked her as he stepped beside her.
"We can have bacon sandwich?" She asked him.
"Sounds great Wan." He said with a smirk as he stood and watched her work.
"So do you have any siblings?" She asked him.
"No, I'm an only child." He said with a shrug. "What was Pietro like?"
"Pietro was funny and daring. He was also protective of everyone he cared about. He used to hate my choice of sitcom when we were children but I know that deep down he enjoyed them because they made me happy, and even happier enjoying with my family." She said as a tear fell from her eye as she remembered her twin.
"He sounds like one hell of a guy and I'm sure he would be proud of who you've become." He told her softly as she just shook her head.
"No he won't." She whispered as she knew that he was going to find out about her powers.
"What do you mean?" He asked her with furrowed brows.
"I have done terrible things. The worst was almost a year ago." She started as she turned to face him. "I had lost someone I had loved so much before the blip. I had to watch him die twice and I was relieved when I turned to dust. Because I didn't want to live in a world were everyone I had ever loved died." She continued as she let out a sob remembering the day Vision died. "Then to come back to finding out that some SHIELD wannabe firm had took his corpse. They took him and made him into who they wanted him to be. A weapon. Then I went to Westview and created my own reality were I could live a life with him and create a family. Then to find out that I was causing the people in the town tremendous pain just so I could feel happy again."
"I'm sure you didn't mean that. You have lost a lot in your life and you just wanted to be happy for once after all you have done for the world. You sacrificed alot for the world. So you're not a monster." He told her softly as he took her hand in his. "We've all done bad things and only the people with the best intentions get the wrong labels. It's not fair but that's just life. It sucks."
He pulled her into his chest to calm her down while running a comforting hand up and down her back. They both stayed there just enjoying each others comfort. When she pulled back he wiped her tears away while giving her a gentle smile.
"You will be ok again Wanda." He told her softly making her give him a small smile.
"Well I'm going to go for a walk." She sighed as she reluctantly removed herself from him.
"Would you like me to accompany you?" He asked her.
"No thats ok. I just need some time alone." She told him softly which he just nodded and watched her walk outside.
He decided that while she was out that he would try and cook something for dinner. As he was in the middle of making a mess Wanda walked back in to find him at the stove.
"What are you doing?" She asked him with a raised brow.
"I'm just trying to cook some dinner and it's proven to be very difficult." He said shyly making Wanda's heart soar at the gesture.
"Here I'll help." She said as she walked over to him. "How do you not know how to cook?"
"Well I have mainly lived off take out or noodles since I left for college." He told her with a smirk.
"Well I'm definitely going to have to teach you because this is a total disaster." She smirked back as he watched her every move as she moved around the kitchen. They spent the rest of the afternoon with Wanda teaching him how to cook and cleaning his mess together. She laughed when she noticed that he had some sauce splattered on his face which resulted in him getting some sauce on his fingers and smeering it across her face. She gasped at the action while he stood laughing at her before she started to chase after him. She caught him when he tripped over the corner of the rug causing Wanda to double over in a laughing fit.
"Come on. Let's get cleaned up so we can eat." She said when she finally calmed down. She helped him up and they ended up closer than they have ever been. She cleared her throat and stepped back and walked back to the kitchen trying to calm her heartbeat down while he just stood there thinking about how beautiful the green of her iris's were and how he had never seen such beauty in his life.
