Tamara moved out when I was ten. She went and stayed with her grandmother on her dad's side. I remember a few days before she left I had gotten in trouble and my punishment was to wash every single dish in the entire house. Everyone went out to eat and Tamara stayed to watch me. After they all left she grabbed a sponge and spent an hour helping me clean. Since she was so much older than me we never had much of a bond but without any words being spoken that one act of kindness became a huge memory for me. I don't remember feeling sad when she moved out. Almost like I knew I wouldn't lose her.
I really don't remember a lot of age 10. I do remember Tamara had gotten a boyfriend shortly after she moved out. His name was Camden Hall. I got along well with him. He treated me like a little sister. Eventually Tamara got an apartment with him. I remember going over to visit. It was cold outside and I forgot a sweater. Camden gave me his. I still have that sweater. He was super nice and caring and it was almost like I had another big brother in my life.
Another thing I remember was a kid named Jonah Castle. Luther's best friend. Luther knew him since they were in kindergarten. And he came around a lot but when I was ten he started coming around a lot more. It was like he lived with us. Same for Clementine's best friend. My god-sister. She was there the day Clementine and Luther was born. She was one year older than them. Her name was Drina Aiken. My dad and her mom were best friends since high school. Drina was always at our house. Her and Jonah were like two extra siblings. They both basically lived with us.
After awhile Camden disappeared. I never saw him and eventually I learned that Tamara had broken up with him. I thought I would be sad but it didn't affect me. Not much did back then. I was always in my own little world. I barely even realized life passing me by, I never noticed anybody else around me.
Not too long later Tamara had a new boyfriend. His name was Matt Nixon. He was alright. Eventually I got close with him. He was like my best friend. Tamara seemed to love him a lot. He was always around and after awhile Tamara got a house with him. I was happy for her. She was getting her life on track and growing up.Age 10 was a good year. It was peaceful and calm. Too bad those moments never last forever.
