The hug lasted ages as Eddie kept Buck close mainly because he missed how much he enjoyed Buck's hugs, but then the fact Buck thinks they're together when they aren't. There is a cough behind them and Eddie breaks the hug.
"I'm sorry but we really need to do the MRI." The doctor explains.
"Ok, Hey Buck, look I will be right outside, I can't be in here due to the machines but as soon as you're done I will be back in, I promise." Eddie explains.
"You promise?" Buck asks.
"I do, I'm not losing you again." Eddie explains as he walks Buck to the MRI.
Once Buck is settled he heads to the door and sits on the seat outside again, how is he going to explain this without upsetting Buck more. He thinks maybe it might be best to pretend for a while but then if Buck remembers they aren't together then it would make it worse for him.
After a while the door opens and Buck walks out and the nurse leads them to a few more test rooms and then back to the private room, once Buck is settled the nurse explains the doctor will be alone later on to explain the results.
Buck smiles and nods but yawns, the obvious long day and the excitement and confusion of everything that has happened was obviously catching him up. Eddie takes a seat next to him getting ready to explain everything when he feels Buck's hand touch him and he looks over at him and smiles as he sees the bright blue eyes peering back at him, they sit like that for a while till eventually Buck nods off to sleep which leaves Eddie there just watching Buck sleep.
As he sits there holding Buck's hand he runs his free one through the long locks, he misses seeing the short curls but for now he doesn't care as he has Buck in his hands.
His thoughts drift off to the team and Buck's sister he really should let them know, but then the anger builds they cut him off, making Maddie see their side and to abandon him, he knows Buck would want his sister here, he just had to think how to get her here.
He starts to drift off himself, the energy levels starting to fall from the excitement and stress and can feel his eyes getting heavy so he shifts in the chair so he can still hold Bucks hand and feel if anything happens.
The sound of coughing makes him wake and straight away he can see Buck having a coughing fit. The nurse is already in the room trying to ease him, Eddie keeps back to let the nurse do her job but he so much wants to help. Eventually Buck is all settled and the nurse indicates for Eddie to step outside with her.
"Hi, he's fine, just a fit, just wanted to say the doctor did come around but you were both asleep so thought it best he left you to it, I will let them know you're awake." She explains.
"Thank you, any reason for his cough?" Eddie asks.
"Could be any number of reason's but we will keep an eye on him." She says with a smile.
"Thank you." Eddie replies.
Eddie heads back in and see's Buck is still asleep, he grabs his phone out and looks at the messages of his friends in Texas, all asking how everything is, he replies to them letting them know, he smiles at the picture TK had sent of Carlos and Chris asleep on the sofa. He kind of wished he had one of them here right now.
As he scrolls through his camera roll looking at old pictures of Buck with him and Chris, he couldn't wait to have time to take more pictures. There's movement to his side and he turns to see Buck moving, opening his eyes and smiling when he sees Eddie.
"Hey, I wasn't dreaming then?" Buck's questions.
"Nope I'm here, but before you say anything else I need to correct you on something." Eddie explains, he needed to explain to Buck the situation between them.
