Kai Romano

Kai threw his cigarette out as he saw Lucie, facing her back to him as she stood outside the hospital in the garden taking in the fresh smell of rain that had just stopped. Kai didn't want to approach her. He felt too guilty too.

Before he could run off, Lucie looked at Kai, motioning him to come over. "I know you were trying to run away" Lucie said smirking as Kai let out a smile before immediately going back to his grim face. "I'm sorry" Kai finally said after long silence.

"I know, but if you want me to forgive you, you will have to tell me more about you." Lucie said as she took a step towards Kai making there noses brush against eachother. "I want to learn everything about you " She whispered as she stared into his ocean blue eyes.

"Okay" Kai said as he looked away, facing the sky. "As you wish" Kai said.

"I was born in Italy, My mother was an escort and my father a well known gangster. They had unprotected sex and had me." Kai started. "Oh? Okay" Lucie said as Kai let out a small laugh. "My mom didn't want me so she gave birth to me and ran away. My father took me in and taught me all the dirty tricks of the world as soon as I learned how to speak. When I was 16, my father died so I came to the US in order to live a new life but became a gangster again" Kai said, scoffing. He spoke of his parents with such anger and disgust. "And then I met you" Kai said turning over to Lucie.

"You lived one hell of a life" Lucie said as Kai chuckled "yeah" He said before wrapping his hands around Lucie's waist and pulling her into a deep passionate kiss. They rested there heads on eachother as Kai stared into Lucie's warm hazel eyes. "I love you" Kai finally whispered. His face showed vulnerability. A kind of vulnerability and softness Lucie had never seen before but she loved it. "I love you two" Lucie said as she kissed him on the cheek.

Both of them looked at the sky, dawn taking over. "Lucie.." Kai started as Lucie looked at him, with bright eyes. "yeah?" Lucie asked as Kai stared at his knuckles, before finally speaking.

"I want to quit"

"What?"

"I don't deserve you. I want to quit being who I am. I want to be someone you can love and deserve without getting you hurt. "

Lucie took a step towards Kai, cupping his cheeks. "I want you. I want all of you. I want your flaws. Your mistakes. your imperfections. I want you, and only you" Lucie said.

"I don't want to hurt you" Kai whispered. "You would never hurt me Kai. You're the person that loved me when I couldn't even love myself"

"I'll help you in any way posible to leave the crime world behind. Let's go through these difficulties, side by side." Lucie finished. "I want to be there for you" Lucie said before planting a soft kiss on Kai's lips.

A few weeks had gone by, graduation was near and so was the stress of not getting into a good college. Lucie sat Infront of her vanity table. Putting on some pouder before starting to brush her hair. "hey" Kai said as Lucie flinched, dropping the hair brush on the floor. "You scared me! How long have you been here?!" Lucie let out as she touched her heart to elaborate.

The corner of his lips tugged, a small but cute smile resting on his face showcasing his dimples. He kneeled infront of Lucie causing her to blush at her thoughts.

He looks so hot kneeling infront of me. I wish he woul- Lucie's eyes widened as she shaked her thoughts off. What the hell is wrong with me. Lucie thought.

Kai picked up the hairbrush before walking behind Lucie and staring at her through the vanity mirror. He traced the scar on her head, his jaw clenched. He took a deep breath before brushing Lucie's tangled up hair. Lucie winced a bit but she knew that it was better for Kai to brush her hair. He would be much more gentle that herself.

"So, are you excited?" Kai asked as Lucie smiled. "A little yeah" she replied. It was her first time going to school after the incident. "I'm just nervous really" Lucie laughed out as Kai put the hairbrush on the table before spinning Lucie's chair to him. He leaned in causing there noses to brush against eachother. "I will be with you" Kai said before leaning in. Lucie closed her eyes but opened them with a frown as she felt nothing on her lips. She saw Kai staring at her with a smirk as he stood a few inches away from her. "Thought I'd kiss you?" Kai said as Lucie reddened. "N-No" Lucie said standing up before throwing her bag over her shoulders.

"Let's go"

"What about your parents?"

"It's fine they're not home"

Everyone gasped as Kai Romano walked in, his hands wrapped around the loser of the school, Lucie.

Lucie and Kai sat on their seats as everyone continued to stare.

All the classes went by in a flash and now Lucie sat alone, scribbling in her sketchbook. "Hii" The familiar voice said. Mia. Lucie's eyes widened as she took as she instictively took a few steps back. "Look.... I'm so sorry for everything that I did to you. It was just a fun little joke right? Let's be good friends now" Mia said with that sugar coated voice Lucie had never ever heard being directed to herself before.

But she knew better than to trust her.

"Just a joke?" Lucie scoffed out. "Did those punches not set you in your right mind. And it's not a fucking joke, it's called bullying" Lucie said as she left the classroom, bumping her shoulders with Mia.

"Kai.." Lucie started as she looked over at him as he drove her home after a long tiring day of school. "Hm?"

"I'm gonna tell mom about us" Lucie said as Kai finally looked at her. "Are you sure?" Kai asked. "what?" Lucie said. "Would she allow someone like me to date you?" Kai said as Lucie sighed "I don't care if they don't allow us cause I know for sure that you make me the happiest I ever am and that's all that matters" Lucie let out in one breath before finally breathing. "Okay" Kai chuckled out.

Lucie took a deep breath before making her way down the stairs for dinner. "Hi mom" Lucie greeted as her mom made the finishing touches to the dinner. "Hello darling" Her mom replied.

"Um so I have something to tell you" Lucie said scratching the back of her neck. "what is it?" Her mom asked as she wiped her hands on her apron. "So I- okay take a seat first" Lucie said as she made her mom sit on the sofa and sat next to her. "So I uh" Lucie stammered, not finding the right words. "Just tell me already!" Her mom exclaimed and Lucie sighed.

"I have a boyfriend"
