Josiah and I grabbed the soda and some water before going back upstairs. Chance nearly bounced off the chair in excitement when he saw us.
"Dr. Pepper!" he cried, holding his hands out eagerly.
"Please don't give my brother caffeine. Please. I have to ride home with him," Jimm said miserably.
"Hey, how did you two get your nicknames?" I asked the Pavluk brothers, sitting on Lea's bed.
"You can thank Chance for that. He hated my name and it used to make him cry, so he started calling me Jimm instead," Jimm said.
Chance frowned. "It made me think of Jack and Jill falling down the hill. I didn't want my baby brother to fall down a hill!"
"Chance was also only four and didn't know how to spell well, hence the two Ms," Jimm said. "And my mom always used to call him Chance. She's really cheesy and always used to say things like 'what are the chances of me getting such a sweet boy' when Chance was a baby. So his nickname stuck."
Well, I guess that cleared up that mystery. I tossed a chip into my mouth and leaned against the headboard of the bed.
"Oh, do you guys want to get some pizza? I just realized that we have snacks, but no real food...we'll be hungrier than Mika Hyakuya after his transformation..." Lea pulled out her phone and began to scroll through her contacts. "We can order and go pick one up!"
"Yay! Road trip!" Chance cheered.
"You're not driving," Jimm said sternly.
"I'll drive us!" Lea said. "Just let me order the pizza."
We waited until Lea had ordered the pizza, killing about 10 minutes before leaving her house and getting in her car. I was squished in the back with the Pavluk brothers while Josiah sat in the passenger seat.
"Oh, we can grab a movie or two while we're there!" Lea said.
"A movie from the pizza place?" I said in confusion.
"It's connected to a video store," Josiah said, laughing. "You can get a good deal on movies there when you're getting pizza too."
"Let's get a really bad horror movie. I need a good laugh," Lea said.
"But scary movies," Chance said, eyes going wide. "They're scary."
"You're 18, Chance. You'll be fine," Jimm said.
"You up for a bad horror movie, Jules?" Josiah asked.
I shrugged. "Yea, sure."
Lea parked a few minutes later and we got out of the car, heading into the place. It was split, half of it being dedicated to the pizza place and half dedicated to the video place.
"Oh my god. Oh, lord, god hates me," Lea groaned.
I looked over and mentally groaned. There was Raven, standing and talking to a guy and a girl as they looked at some movies together.
"Those are her friends," Lea said, shaking her head. "Alright, Jimm, Jules, Josiah, you guys all have J names, so I'm designating the movie selection to you. Chance, you and I are going to wait for the pizza and hide from Raven and her friends."
She grabbed Chance's hand and dragged him away to wait for the pizza. Jimm, Josiah, and I shrugged at each other before moving over to the horror movie section.
"I'm going to see if Lea and Chance have a preference. Do we want a shitty slasher, a shitty sci-fi, or a shitty suspense?" Josiah said, taking off to go ask the others.
