“Jules!”
I turned as Josie ran up to me with a smile on her face, Jimm and Chance trailing behind her. Jimm had a firm grip on Chance’s ear, and Chance was letting out little whines.
“I saw you and my brother hugging last night! It was adorable!” she squealed.
“Josie!” Josiah groaned, hurrying over to us. “Go away you little pest!”
“You two are so cute together,” she said with a nod. “I approve.”
“But…we’re just friends,” I said in confusion.
“You say that now,” Josie said, and Josiah slapped a hand over her mouth.
“Okay, little siblings need to go away now,” Josiah said.
“Excuse you?” Jimm raised an eyebrow. “If I go away, that leaves you with Chance.”
“Female little siblings need to go away now,” Josiah amended.
“I can take a hint!” she whined, pushing her brother away. “I’ll see you later Jack!”
“Josie don’t-” Josie winked at Jimm before running off. He glared after her. “Don’t call me Jack!” he called after her retreating form.
Arms wrapped around my neck and then Lea kissed my cheek. “Hello wonderful girlfriend of mine!” she said brightly. She lowered her voice. “Raven is watching, please help me.”
“Hi Lea!” I said with a smile, turning in her arms and hugging her. I grew nervous as I noticed Raven leaning against a locker and watching us carefully. Raven narrowed her eyes before turning and walking away, down the hall and around the corner.
“She’s gone,” Jimm said.
“Whew! Thank you Jules!” Lea said gratefully.
“So is Jules a lesbian?” Chance asked curiously.
“Jules is a boy,” Jimm said, yanking on Chance’s ear again.
“Ouchy!” Chance whined.
Lea glared at the spot Raven had been standing.”She’s got another new girlfriend already. Proud slut. She is truly an essence of Yamato Nakano,” she said with a sigh.
“Of…who?” I asked in confusion.
“Don’t ask,” Josiah said, shaking his head. “Just nod along like you actually get it.”
“Uh…okay,” I said. The warning bell rang and Lea brightened up.
“Let’s go to class, Jules!” she said, grabbing my hand and dragging me along down the hallways and into the classroom. She sat down with me and grinned at me. “So you and Josiah hung up all day alone yesterday, huh? How did that go?”
“We just went to Josiah’s spot and then had dinner at his house after driving around,” I said in confusion. “Why is everyone acting like we were on a date?”
