                “Jules!”

I spun around as Josie ran over to me, a smile on her face. Jimm was following behind her, looking annoyed.

“Hey,” she said, stopping in front of me. Jimm stood next to her, his eyes darting around the hallway, seeming to grow more and more annoyed with every passing second.

“Uh…hey guys,” I said. I had just gotten to school and had been walking towards my locker. “What’s wrong Jimm?”

“My brother ran off and I can’t find him,” he grumbled.

“Speaking of brothers, have you seen Josiah?” Josie asked. “He kind of took off when we got to school.”

I shook my head. “I just got here. I haven’t seen him, or Chance.”

“I really need to get a leash for him,” Jimm said with a sigh.

“Aw, cheer up Jimmy! We’ll find Chance,” Josie promised, slinging an arm around his shoulders.

“I’ll be right back. I’m going to go ask Devin if he’s seen Chance,” Jimm said, ducking under Josie’s arm and going over to some guy across the hall.

“Are you two dating?” I asked curiously.

Josie sighed. “I wish. I’ve been crushing on Jimm for, like, three years now. The guy just doesn’t like me back,” she said.

“You guys would be good together,” I said. I could see Josie and Jimm dating.

“Yea, tell that to him,” she grumbled, rolling her eyes. “Jack Pavluk is oblivious to all forms of flirtation.”

She grinned at me. “But enough about me and idiotic Jimm. What’s between you and my brother?”

                “Huh?” I asked in confusion.

“You and Josiah! Do you like him? Are you even gay?” she asked.

                “Um…I’m straight,” I said.

“What a shame,” she said with a sigh. “Josiah totally has a crush on you.”

“No he doesn’t!” I said, laughing. “We’re just friends!”

“Oh, ouch. Josiah has officially joined me in the friend zone,” she said.

“I’m not friend zoning him. He doesn’t like me like that. We just met,” I said.

“You keep telling yourself Jules,” she said, patting my arm.

“Devin doesn’t know where Chance is either!” Jimm said, coming over to us and ruffling his hair in frustration.

“Jack! Don’t do that,” Josie said, smacking his hand away and fixing his hair. “Jeez, you and your crazy hair.”

“Josie, how many times do I have to tell you to call me Jimm?” he said. “You know I never go by Jack.”

“I’ll call you whatever I want,” she said, eyeing his hair to make sure she had fixed it right.
