Jacqueline's Pov
"*Pant *Pant *Cough *Wheeze." I was on my knees trying to catch my breath on the rocky running path. Oh my God...we ran so much.
"You okay?" I look up to see a hand with a water bottle extend to me. Linked to that hand is a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes.
"Yeah. I'm fine. Thanks." I say as I take the water bottle and stand up. I open the cap and take three huge gulps out of water. I hand him back the water bottle. I get back up as I start to jog once more.
"You sure you okay?" The guy asks.
"Yeah. I'm fine." I say as I continue to jog.
"You look very pale-and your lips are purple." The guy says in a worried tone.
He grabs my hand and pulls me aside."H-hey! I said I was-" I scowl him for making me stop but he doesn't let me finish speaking.
"Your ankle, it hurts. Doesn't it?" The guy asks.
"A little, but it's nothing to worry about." I say, trying to crack a smile.
"Oh really? Is that why you're limping?" He asks with an eyebrow raise.
"I-I'm limping?" I ask confused. I didn't even notice. Why didn't I feel I was limping?
"You didn't notice?" The guy asks.
"No." I lightly shake my head.
The guy turns around facing his back to me. "Get on." He says with what I can imagine-a kind smile, "Don't worry. I won't kidnap you or anything. I just want to help. You won't make it back to camp before it gets dark with that ankle." I reluctantly, but thankfully get on.
"Thanks." I whisper to him.
"No problem." The kind guy says, "By the way, my name's Nicolaus."
"Nicolaus." I repeat softly, "I like that name."
I open my eyes. I'm laying on my soft bed. I look at the clock to notice it's 9:30. Huh? Must be a Saturday. Boy, do I love Saturdays! I get up from my bed and walk to my closet. "What to wear...what to wear..." I murmur to myself. Beautiful varieties and different shades of...black.
I look at my desk to see something laying there. I walk up to the desk to see a creme, black striped shirt laying there with a note that read: This Is Part Of Your Punishment. Enjoy :)
I growl under my breath. This is so unlike my father. I don't even dare to imagine what's coming next. I reluctantly put on the shirt with a matching black hat. My father truly is mad.
I walk downstairs to eat breakfast.
"Sigh..."
I sit down at the table to keep receiving glances from my family members. I slam my fork on the table, "If you want to say something to me-then just say it." Everyone sat there in silence as they continued to stare at me.
"Excuse me. I need some fresh air." I got up from the table and walked out the door. I headed for the plaza.
"I just need to look at how others live their lives to make myself feel better." That's what my father used to tell me at a young age. But he's wrong. Looking at how simple other people's lives are, makes me yearn for theirs.
I sit down in front of a coffee shop. What lovely chairs. What lovely scenery. Just like the scenery in a movie. Wow. I am not feeling like myself today. "I'm sorry Miss, but you can't sit here without ordering anything." I look up and to my surprise I see Nicolaus in a white buttoned shirt and white bow tie. When he notices it's me, his eyes widen as a kind smile appears on his face.
