"What the hell?!" He yells, glaring at the giant screen.
He started typing at his computer, clicking next footage after next footage but nothing. That was all of the footage available of Youta is that morning. Karma bit his lower lip so hard it was enough to draw blood
He replayed the footage, enduring the pain of having to watch his son get knocked out unconscious and then dragged to a van by a creep.
The van's license plate was covered, much to his frustration.
He tried again and again to find a video, any video to help him find his son, even hacked the camera inside the school bus and video feed from the traffic light.
He couldn't even track Youta's phone because the phone was either out of battery or smashed.
He ended up with nothing. Just blank information
And Karma hated having blank information.
"FUCK!" Karma screams throwing a heavy object over his shoulder. He ignored the loud smashing sound it made, focusing on covering his face with his hands in frustration, anger, despair and fear.
Ring, ring, ring!
His head snapped to his phone's direction. Picking it up he saw his husband was calling him.
He answered it instantly "Shū..."
"Karma---Are you crying? What's wrong? Karma I tried to track Youta's phone but there was nothing" he heard Gakushū's anxious voice on the other line. "Karma I think something bad happened...Karma I don't think it's my paranoia I genuinely think something happened.."
"Shū..."
"We should look for him!" Gakushū's panic was rising. Karma knows his husband might snap if he tells him what he witnessed on the screen. But if they want their son back they must put their brains together. "Gakushū....listen carefully" he started, trying to steady his voice.
"I'm listening" was Gakushū's hesitant reply.
And so he explained to his husband what happened.
Sure enough, there was the sound of something breaking on the other line, followed by furious curses.
"I'm going to kill whoever that mother fucker is!!" Gakushū promises. "Get in line" Karma responded, already putting on his jacket. He knows that the long day of searching will be what'll keep them from completely loosing it.
"I'm reporting this to the police" Gakushū said. "I'll get father too, he has connections and he'll be helpful to us. Plus his torture ideas will be vital for when we get our hands on the creep who stole our son from us"
Karma was about to leave his office, but was stopped by a loud ting from his computer, informing him of a new notification. At first, Karma decided to ignore it
But something pulled him back to his computer. He checked the screen and clicked the unknown email he received from an unknown source, and gasped when he noticed that Youta's face is triggering the facial recognition system he installed a while back. "Karma what is it?"
He put his husband on speaker.
"Gakushū I just got an email" he shakily responded. "Ignore it!" Gakushū hissed
"No, the system recognized Youta's face" Karma explained. "I'm moving the email to the larger screen for viewing"
"Shit...yes! Karma do that!" Was Gakushū's relieved exclamation.
Their relief was short lived though
As soon as the email was moved to the giant TV screen, Karma was met with a semi-dark room.
A child was sitting on the ground, hugging his knees, his labored breathing filled up the room making Karma snarl. He recognized that hair, those clothes...
"Karma...what's going on?" Gakushū demanded. "What are those sounds?"
Without thinking he switched his husband to video call and showed Gakushū the scene on the screen.
"Youta!" Gakushū screamed, horrified.
As if hearing his papa's cry and sensing his daddy's distress, Youta's head shot up, revealing a bruised and bloodied face.
The parents felt their entire world come crashing down.
