Chapter 2: Arriving at Sangju

Days passed and the day to set out for Sangju arrived real quick. The four friends i.e. Jimin, Jungkook, Rosé and Lisa packed their luggage and departed from Seoul towards Sangju

(In car)

"Finally we are free from our parents! Let's celebrate after reaching Sangju!" Jimin screamed as soon as they left the city of Seoul.

"No wait! First we must find a room where we will be staying for next 3 years and then-"

Jimin interrupted while Rosé was still completing her sentence,

"Don't worry! I have already contacted a local who is ready to let us live at one of their apartments on rental basis"

"Wow Jimin! You are one step ahead of us!" Lisa exclaimed with surprise

"Good job jimin! Now we can have the party at our new apartment!" said Jungkook

"Wait! Y'all are taking this way to casually! We also have to think about the source for income to pay the rent, and-"

"Rosé calm down, we know freedom comes with responsibility but it doesn't mean we should worry about our future and stop enjoying the present!" said Lisa who was sitting next to her.

Jimin agreed," True! We have a whole week left till the first day of our highschool. We will definitely solve all our problems till then and begin our highschool life happily!"

"Yeah for now, let's celebrate our freedom with a party tonight!" Jungkook tried to convince her too

"Yes y'all are right! I was just nervous because we will be living without our parents from now on but now i feel relaxed thanks to your three. To show my gratitude i will treat y'all tonight!"

"Yaayy!!" other three screamed joyfully.

(After few hours)

"We are finally here!" Exclaimed Lisa while looking at the "Welcome to Sangju" sign from window

(At their new apartment)

"So this is where we are going to live for next 3 years" Rosé said while Jungkook was opening the door of the apartment.

The door opened and everyone went into the apartment. It was a huge  apartment with 2 bedrooms, 1 living room, and 1 kitchen. Everyone was shocked at the sight the apartment. Lisa immediately started checking out all the rooms.

"This apartment is so huge and beautiful! I was expecting a small one but this is way better and luxurious!" Lisa exclaimed while running through the hallway to check the other bedroom.

"Jimin this is unexpected, are u sure we would be able to afford the rent?"
Rosé asked with an obvious worried look on her face.

"I don't know! I am as surprised as y'all are!"

"So you four have finally arrived here! Welcome to Sangju" said a stranger standing at the entrance of the apartment.

Everyone gathered in the living hall to see who the person is.

"I am Eun Daewi, the owner of this apartment. Nice to meet you!"

"Nice to meet you too Miss Daewi" said everyone,"Please, do come inside."

"Thank you for letting us stay here!" said Jimin who was already acquainted with the owner.

"So did you like the apartment?" asked Daewi who was about to sit on the couch.

"Yes!! It's so spacious and cool!" said Lisa who's antonished by the apartment

"but I'm afraid the rent would be huge like apartment, right?" said Rosé

"No it's just 120k won( approx. $100) per month" Daewi announced the rent for apartment

"WHAT?!?" everyone was startled

"Isn't it way too cheap for a luxurious apartment with 2 master bedrooms?" questioned Jimin.

"No the rent is fair enough, I can understand what students at your age have to go through to make money for their living so i don't want to increase your troubles by charging high rents. Enjoy your life at Sangju!"

However this answer didn't satisfied Jungkook's suspicion

(Jungkook pov)

ok i got that you are charging a low rent because we are students but isn't it way too low? Like apartments this luxurious at least have a rent of 1000$ which is 10x the rent she offered. Is this a trap? Are we being deceived? Does this have something to do with us being new to city? Or wait-

"Do you know in which school we will be studying?" Jungkook asked in an attempt test his suspect.

"Yes, Isn't it Sangju highschool? Jimin told me about it."

Jungkook's eyes widened.

"Can you tell us about that school?" he asked

"Sure it's a reputed school here. It's teaching staff is experienced and talented! They provide various facilities for students! You kids will love it!"

"One last question! Is that school haunted?" Jungkook's final question to test miss Daewi

The smile on Miss Daewi's face suddenly disappeared, her face looked pale as if a sudden feeling of fear stricked her heart, Jungkook noticed this immediately.

"N..No it's not.. haunted! Where did you hear that? That's ridiculous!" It seemed like she was struggling to maintain a smile on her face.

"Ohh ok"

"I will take your leave now! Make yourself comfortable here! Bye!" She left

"Weird!"

"Huh?"

"It's weird how she was frightened at such a simple question. If it was just a rumour, there was no need to be this afraid!" Jungkook expressed his suspicion after what he observed

"Yea i find it suspicious as well, maybe this rumours are really true!!" Lisa exclaimed

"We won't know unless we check that school ourselves! Anyways, let's get ready for our small party" said Rosé reminding everyone of the little party they planned

"YESS" other three replied.

It was a happy start to their time at Sangju but is it really going to be that enjoyable? Would they still be this happy if they knew the dark truth of Sangju highschool? Why did miss Daewi shivered with fear after listening Jungkook's question? Is it really a trap? Stay tuned to find out!
