Katya initially wanted to wait until Trixie came back to ask her how her date went. However she couldn't stop crying while thinking about why Trixie rejected her three years ago, so she buried herself under her blanket and tried to sleep.

Trixie paid the bill at the restaurant and started stressing out again when they walked out. Jessica casually mentioned that her roommate wasn't there so they could go back to her place, but Trixie couldn't bring herself to it. She said she had to drive her friend early at the airport the morning after, even if Katya was only leaving on Sunday. She also avoided kissing her date by giving her a friendly hug. The blonde looked disappointed, and Trixie wondered what was wrong with herself. She turned down potentially good sex from a pretty girl because all she could think of was that Katya was home, and she was yet again wasting time with her. In the past few years Trixie realized it was not that she couldn't see Katya, it's that she didn't want to. And it made her sick, because maybe she would be in a happy relationship with a girl she loved, who loved her, if she had been braver back then. And it was all she really dreamed of. It reminded her of one of the many talks she had with Katya about marriage. Trixie wanted to get married some day, whereas Katya found it outdated. "I'll be the bridesmaid" Katya laughed. "No, you'll be my wife" Trixie thought.

She shed a tear as she walked down the street, not really knowing if she was walking in the right direction. She ended up in a busy street with bars on each side of the road, and decided to end her night in one of them. It was a somber picture, a girl with smudged mascara and bloodshot eyes downing yet another cocktail, alone at the counter. At four am, Trixie was more than tipsy and tired, so she took an Uber to get back home. She tried to be silent while opening the door and getting to her room, even if Katya had woken up as soon as she heard the elevator's doors open. Since it was really late she figured Trixie left Jessica's place after hooking up, and it annoyed her somehow. This feeling was replaced by worry when she heard sobs coming from the bathroom. Katya hesitated, but Trixie's wails wrenched her heart and she had to know what was going on. She softly knocked on the door and pushed it open.

"What happened Trix?"

The blonde was in her pajamas removing her makeup, her eyes were swollen, and Katya noticed hers were too while looking in the mirror.

"Nothing too bad, we didn't click... she's not like I thought she would be" Trixie replied, biting her lip to prevent it from quivering.
"It's okay. There's plenty of other girls, you'll find someone right for you"

Trixie nodded and shrugged, even if she disagreed with Katya. The only person she could love was her best friend.
"I'm sorry that I left you alone tonight. I should enjoy having you here as much as possible. I miss you..." Trixie said looking up at Katya, who gave her a compassionate smile.
"I miss you too. You know I can come to see you whenever you want, and you're always welcome in Boston."
"Thank you. I'm not that good at being alone."
"Took you long enough to realize" Katya giggled with a smile, but that sentence made Trixie think once again of all the time they lost, and she was back to crying.

"Bunny tell me what's on your mind" Katya urged as she came closer to Trixie and hugged her from behind. The pet name managed to make another one of Trixie's memories reemerge, because Katya always called her that when she tried to cheer her up, which happened often in high school.

"I made a mistake. And I selfishly thought you would be the only one to suffer from it, but it's been three years and I'm still not over it. I love you, and now you must not love me back anymore" Trixie mumbled with a broken voice. She looked down in shame, but Katya turned her around so they were face to face.
"Of course I fucking love you" She said before kissing Trixie hastily. They both felt a sudden burst of energy, and surrendered to this feeling completely. Katya pushed Trixie against her and relished in the taste of her lips, her deepest fantasy was coming alive and she never wanted this moment to end. Trixie finally felt safe, and vindicated, because this kiss confirmed that their relationship was none other than love. However it wasn't long until her pragmatic side took over.

"How can we be in a relationship if you're five thousand kilometers away?"
"We'll find a way baby, but let's think about it tomorrow. We need to sleep" Katya replied and kissed Trixie's forehead.
"Okay"

They walked down the hallway hand in hand and settled in Trixie's bed, Katya on her back, Trixie on her stomach with an arm around her girlfriend's waist. The last time they were in this position was during one of their many sleepovers. They used to have slumber parties every other week in high school, and it only consisted of cuddling for hours until they fell asleep on top of each other.

Trixie slept in really late when she was hungover, and Katya was up before her. She decided to stay in bed, way too happy to have Trixie by her side as her girlfriend. When the blonde started to stir up, Katya ordered lunch on a food delivery app, which was about all she could do cooking-wise. They ate on the balcony, and Trixie busied Katya with kisses afterwards so she wouldn't smoke. She never liked the fact that Katya smoked, and tried to get her to stop countless times. After graduation, Katya managed to have only two or three cigarettes a day, but she got back to more than two packs a week once Trixie left for Los Angeles. She always told herself that if she were to stop, it would be for Trixie.

"I'll move out. I finished art school, and I can get a job as a yoga teacher here. Besides I don't wanna stay in my home town forever" Katya proposed when they were making plans for their relationship.
"It's not fair. You can't leave all your friends and family for me"
"You still have five years of studying left to do here, it's only logical that I join you"

Trixie and Katya spent the rest of the weekend looking at apartments in the area. Trixie would do the visits for Katya, and pay some of her rent until her girlfriend was fully settled. They had tearful goodbyes at the airport, but Katya promised to come back in less than a month.
