Katya's new place was smaller than Trixie's and still not completely furnished. It was only a five minutes walk between their apartments, and Katya applied at a local gym which gave her a positive response a week later. She had yet to find somewhere to expose her art, but all the recent changes in her life gave her a lot of inspiration. At first, Katya had the will to go back to her place to sleep because she knew how important it was for Trixie to have her own space. But recently her girlfriend almost never let Katya go after they spent the evening together. She had a toilet bag at Trixie's place, some clothes, shoes, art supplies... Katya's flat was uninhabited half of the week, and they decided to move in together two months in the relationship. They remained in the same area and upgraded to a bigger apartment. There was one room dedicated to Katya's paintings, and Trixie's office was in the living room. Trixie loved to see Katya get out of her art room with splashes of paint all over her face and overalls. She also loved when her girlfriend came back from the gym, sweaty and sexy in her small workout clothes.

The first time Trixie saw Katya naked again, she noticed how much tattoos the girl had. She teased her for long minutes by asking what each one meant, while Katya only wanted to fuck Trixie. The blonde joked about Katya getting a tattoo of her name, and her girlfriend proudly showed her the new piece she had on her wrist the next day. It was a simple font with hearts instead of dots on the i's. Trixie thought it was perfect. It wasn't about belonging to one another, but belonging together, and Trixie and Katya both understood that.

Katya's literal ways of showing her love didn't prevent Trixie from being constantly afraid of losing her. She reflected on how heartbreaking it would be to watch their relationship turn sour and their love crumble. Katya was comprehensive and reassuring, Trixie had the same fears regarding their friendship years ago and she knew how to appease her. They also had a conversation about communication, so that their feelings weren't left unsaid to blow up later on.

In October, Katya had finished the mysterious project she had been working on. She wouldn't let Trixie see any of it, and even if she was curious she respected Katya's decision. Around the middle of fall, Katya announced to Trixie the outcome of months of work; she organized an exhibition. Thirty-one original paintings made by Katya would be shown in a gallery. The opening was a Thursday night, and Trixie worked that day, so she told Katya she wouldn't be there on time. She sped home after her shift at the hospital to take a shower and change, but arrived forty-five minutes late anyway. She was wearing a classy pink gown, and her hair was in a messy updo with some strands falling out around her face. She felt too casual for this type of event, whereas Katya had all her attention on the lost blonde looking around. She came up to her and Trixie smiled when her eyes landed on her girlfriend.

"This is huge baby I'm so proud of you. You're gorgeous" Trixie complimented, admiring how effortlessly chic Katya looked in a black blazer and slacks.
"Thank you. You're beautiful too, I love your hair"

Katya linked her arm with Trixie and showed her around. Each painting was hanging in a different room, and a song played in every one of them. Katya's artwork was supposed to match the piece it was associated with. Trixie was amazed by how inventive and unique this was. She knew all the songs playing, and wondered if Katya purposely chose them because of this, since they had different music taste otherwise. It was fun to see how Katya translated the songs on a canvas, and the visitors seemed to be enjoying it too. Trixie had always loved Katya's art, but with time it got even better. It was so diverse and heart touching, and she hoped her girlfriend would get the recognition she deserved. Her talent was even more impressive because there were so many paintings, and Trixie wanted to hang each of them around their apartment.

"This is the last one" Katya said before they entered yet another room. Trixie gasped when she saw the huge picture, which depicted a blonde girl smiling and standing under the purple rain. Trixie then heard Prince's wails from the song Purple Rain, and everything came together. This was Katya's notebook all over again. She had tears in her eyes when she turned to the side to look at her girlfriend. Katya's eyes were red and shiny too, and she flipped open the lid of a small pink box she was holding.

"Trixie, will you marry me?"

Trixie felt like her heart stopped beating, and she smiled through her tears while saying yes to Katya. The gold ring was soon around her finger and she took her fiancee in her arms. They mumbled I love you's on each other's lips and slowly rocked back and forth until the end of the song, their song.
