Ever since he returned from Paradis three years ago, you have always despised Reiner Braun. A fragile man of emotions and pathetic whims, the person who ruined the mission to retake the founder and left your allies to die as a result of that cowardice. A true anomaly of human pity.

As you gaze down at the man himself, clutching onto a bloody arm as he collapses onto the muddy trench ground, those hateful emotions can't help but rise back up to the surface.

"Get up! What are you doing- get up!" your back presses against the dirty wall of the trench, watching him as the sounds of gun-shots surround you both. He sits up, holding his arm and scowling from pain, truly forcing an overly-emotional scene. Seeing this display, you scream at him, eyes sparking with genuine fury, "don't you dare ruin this for me, asshole!"

"I'm not... trying to... ruin..." he gasps, blood trickling down the gaping wound on his shoulder. "Oh god..."

"I know you can fucking regenerate!" You take a breath in, the realisation of what's at stake hitting you suddenly as a desperate tone turns in your voice, "please, please don't do this today!"

He stays on the ground, ignoring you.

You tell him, like a warning, "get up." Seeing his silence, you scowl even harder. "Get the hell up!"

"Y/N..." he mumbles, coughing out from pain.

"That's it!"

You move away from the wall and approach him, standing before Reiner's pathetic stance n his knees before lurching your hand out. In a second, you pull him up by his shirt collar, furious eyes meeting his.

"Y/N- Y/N, stop!"

"No! This time you're going to fucking get it!" you yell at him.

You bring your knee out and slam it hard against his groin, delighting yourself in how his expression turns to misery before you let go of the grasp on his shirt. He falls to the ground on his back, gasping as it happens before holding onto the bulge of his pants.

"You spineless piece of shit! Why do you only act like this when it's important to me?! Why?!" As you speak, you bring your leg out and kick him sharply again and again. "I hate you! God I hate you so damn much!"

You take a step back, panting from the exhausting kicks and watch as he sluggishly sits up. It still amazes you how little he reacts, even when getting completely pummeled. Seeing such a deplorable display, you can't help but mock him.

"Aww, Reiner, what's wrong? You're sad, huh? Are you going to cry? Cry like a little bitch?" you ask, staring him down fiercely. "Like a little bitch boy?"

He doesn't respond, choosing instead to dart his eyes away from you. There's the slightest twitch on his expression as his frown deepens, but aside from that, nothing. It only angers you more, driving you insane from his pitiful silence.

"Grow a damn pair already!" you shout at him. "I swear to god if you don't get your ass on board soon I'll-!"

"L/N!" calls out the recognisably brash voice of Magath.

The faint sound comes from behind, a far enough distance away from you. You turn back around hurriedly and meet his eyes, your commander furiously hiding behind a trench wall as gunfire surrounds them.

Immediately you rush up to him, expression frightened from approaching his disappointed glare. "Sir?"

"Your orders?" he asks angrily, clutching onto the gun in his hands tighter now. "We're getting slaughtered over here!"

"Sorry, sorry, I was just-"

His answer comes fast, interrupting you with a statement that cuts you deeply, "distracted?" Magath takes the firearm in his hands and shoves it to you, leaning in to hold your eye contact feverishly. "Officers don't get distracted, do they?"
