So... um... this study is messed up :) Alot of BSDM, kinks, talks about D/S and alot... alot of sex. Just a warning for that right off the bat. Run away to hold onto your innocence.
First thing to establish here is sadistic Reiner. Here's a little passage to understand his role in the story:
"What to do... what to do..." he says to himself, smacking the belt against his own hand to see how effective it will be. "Shall I tie you up? Make you choke? Or perhaps, beat you senseless?" He pauses, truly forcing you to wait. "What to do..."
Yeah, so this character is a pretty far cry from our favourite sad blondie from the anime, but to put characters from a show without sex into a BDSM mind-fuck, naturally the personalities will have to drift into fanon archetypes. Expect that Reiner outside of the bedroom will act like he is canonically but during ~the deed~ will become a very different guy.
This is also a y/n fic and since the couple are very much rivals here, I have the job of jam-packing her with flaws (it was either that or make Reiner a jerk, which ain't happening I'm sorry). So she can be pretty egotistical and unlikable at times.
Aside from that, the story is canon-compliant, not an alternate universe or timeline. The actions in the story happen a few months before season 4 starts.
And lastly, to have y/n's closeness to Porco, Pieck, Zeke and the rest make sense, she is a warrior candidate set to inherit the Cart Titan, in the same way as Colt who is inheriting the Beast. Her story goes as follows:
She was a child candidate training at the same time as the rest of the cast but wasn't picked to inherit any of the nine titans. While Reiner went on his mission to Paradis, she stayed in Liberio and used what she learnt in training to become a strong leader in the war effort. Now that the current shifters are nearing the end of their lives, Magath chose her to be the next Cart.
So while being a candidate, she is the same age as the other shifters, nineteen.
