It was the day of the entrance exams for UA and, like I've done for the past 2, I went to watch. The teachers don't mind since quite a few of them know me fairly well and I've helped on quite a bit of missions with some. I sat in the back of the room that everyone was in watching the future students as they did the practical exam. I looked at the scores and at the top was Katsuki Bakugo, which I wasn't all that surprised when he enrolled. He would definitely get into the hero course and class 1-A.
I wasn't necessarily surprised when I found out that Izuku Midoriya was enrolling as well. But I can't say I wasn't at least a little bit shocked considering he didn't even have a quirk. The thing was though that All Might told me he found a successor and if it turned out to be Izuku then I'd be okay with that. He deserved to be a hero and he had all the correct qualities of a true hero. But his score... was 0. He had zero attack points which meant only a miracle could get him into the hero course.
I remember when All Might recommended me for the school, but since I was still really young I had to take a written test and my own separate practical test. The reason I wanted to go here so young was because All Might was getting weaker. Yes, I know his secret and all about his quirk. I wanted to get ahead of the curve so I could help him out and maybe outshine him enough so he could retire and not worry about people losing their symbol of peace. That's why I'm his sidekick. Even though I'm still in school and I'm not quite 18 yet, I have my full-fledged hero license.
But anyway, back to the practical exam. The teachers had just released the giant 0 pointer. I remember I had just encased it in ice and went off to fight the other robots so I could continue to rack up points. The only people who watched me in mine were the principal and Aizawa, so I could go all out and not only use "one" quirk. Everyone in Izuku's group started to run away as the 0 pointer came out, but there was one girl who had her leg stuck under some rubble from the robot. In the next instant, Izuku got up and started running towards the girl before jumping all the way up in the air towards the robot. Then he punched it which caused the robot to fall backward and end up defeated.
He just used a smash... No freaking way! All Might chose Izuku! And now he's free falling... I sweat dropped at the sight of his broken limbs. What the hell did he even teach him? Just as Izuku was about to hit the ground the floating girl he saved slapped him across the face and he floated for a second before she released him.
Every judge in the room began to raise numbers in the air. These numbers were rescue points and the first round of numbers were for Izuku's rescue of the girl. He ended up getting 60 rescue points which is more than enough to get into the hero class and be in class 1-A like I was. The girl who saved Izuku, who I later learned was named Ochaco Uraraka, got 45 rescue points. I celebrated quietly behind the panel of judges watching as the practical exam finished and Recovery Girl healed Izuku's broken bones.
I left to go and see All Might, even though I wanted to congratulate Izuku on his great work... I didn't want to ruin the surprise. All Might was in the teachers' lounge in his deflated form when I got there, "Soooooo... how come you didn't tell me you had picked Izuku as your successor?!" All Might jumped at my sudden presence and spewed blood in the process.
"You know young Midoriya?"
I went to sit next to him on the couch, "Yeah. He was one of the kids I would hang out with all the time when I was little. I was his bodyguard." My train of thought went back to the day we met for the first time, "I am happy that you picked him though. He has wanted to be a hero ever since he was little." I chuckled, "His bedroom is full of All Might merch." I looked over at him and saw the baggy golden suit he was wearing. "So after 2 years of me being a student here, you finally decided to become a teacher huh? And you're doing the acceptance videos?"
"Yeah. They want me to do the hero course ones."
"You know there's like 40 of those right?"
"Huh?!"
I started laughing as I got up, "Have fun. I'm going home."
"You gonna be okay?"
"Yeah I'll be fine. See ya later."
I left the room and closed the door behind me. I walked down the hall a little before finally releasing the coughing fit that I had been holding in. I am the top student at UA, yet I've always been sick. I leaned against the wall and covered my mouth with my hand to try and silence the loud coughs. My entire body ached as I slowly slid to the floor coughing.
"Arya." The pain suddenly stopped and so did my coughing as I looked up. It was Eraserhead. "You shouldn't push yourself."
"Thank you." I looked back down the hall towards the teachers' lounge. "Don't tell him please. He has enough to worry about."
Aizawa sighed, "Fine. But promise me you'll take better care of yourself, alright?" He looked down at me with worry in his eyes. Aizawa practically raised me since he was the only one who could stop the pain and my dad was always away on work.
I got up from my seated position on the ground and smiled at Aizawa as he deactivated his quirk. I enveloped him in a hug, "I promise. Thank you for always being there for me."
He placed his hand on top of my head, "No problem kiddo."
I released him from the hug and looked up at him, "Alrighty. I'm gonna head home now." I started walking down the hall away from Aizawa. "I'll see ya later." I turned back around and left the school going home.
****
Once I reached home, I walked to my room and contemplated whether or not to go and drop by Izuku's house. I decided against it since I haven't seen him in two years as myself and it might be weird if I just dropped by out of the blue and I wanted his acceptance into the school to be a surprise.
I had decided that I would just stop by 1-A's classroom before heading to mine to say hi and tell Aizawa to go easy on them. I chuckled at the thought of how Aizawa acts with everyone besides me. He always puts up a front, but deep down I know he cares about his class. As long as he doesn't expel them all on the first day.
I laughed as I went into my closet and took out my hero costume. I changed and went out on patrol around the city since I had nothing else to do with my time. I thought about what the next school year would bring now that All Might was going to be a teacher.
Okay sorry it's kind of short but the next chapter will finally be with everyone we all know and love from class 1-A. And of course, if you're confused about Arya at all everything about her will explained in time and you'll get to learn about her quirks and background as the story goes on. Obviously I'm not gonna tell y'all right away, so stay tuned for the next chapter and the start of the school year.
Don't forget to vote if you like it and add the story to your library so you know when the next chapter is published.
Hope y'all enjoy!
