I left Midnight in the teachers' lounge and made my way to my first class of the day. On my way to the room, I pulled my phone out and texted my Dad.
AryEl
Hey just wanted to let you know that I have not been kidnapped. I just accidentally slept at school.😬
Several minutes had passed since I texted him and I was in class when I felt my phone vibrate. I stealthily pulled my phone out and looked at it from under my desk.
Dad Might
Why did you sleep here last night?
You didn't let me know.
Are you okay?
Did you collapse yesterday?
Don't push yourself.
I sighed at the many messages before quickly responding.
AryEl
I'm fine. I accidentally slept through the night here. And I should be telling you that. Love you💜
I shoved my phone away and focused back to what the teacher was saying, but in the back of my mind I kept getting this nagging feeling.
****
The rest of my morning went by normally. Nothing exciting happened, but the nagging in the back of my mind never left me. I popped into the cafeteria and grabbed food, said hi to Izuku and Shoto, and bugged Katsuki about being nice before teleporting away to my favorite quiet spot for lunch.
The rooftop was technically off limits to everyone but the door was usually unlocked, even though I hardly ever used it. I found this quiet spot during my first year here since I was extremely young and didn't know anybody in the beginning. I've never seen anybody else wander up here during lunch in the past two years, so imagine my surprise when the rooftop door slowly creaked open.
The first thing I saw was a mop of messy lavender hair followed by exhausted looking eyes. Of course, me being me, the first thing that came out of my mouth upon seeing the bags under the other kid's eyes was, "Hello Insomniac." The purple headed boy whipped his eyes in my direction in surprise. He probably didn't expect anybody else to be up here. It looked like he was about to turn around and head back inside but I quickly called out. "It's fine. You can sit up here too. Or I can leave if you want to be alone."
He seemed hesitant at first but eventually mumbled a very quiet, "It's fine," before he made his way to the opposite side of the small roof opening and sat down.
I silently watched the lavender haired boy eat his food. He looked kinda espresso depresso. I should make sure he's okay. And he kinda intrigues me. I teleported over next to him. The boy jumped at my sudden appearance. Of course, once again I blurted out random crap. “Are you depressed?”
“Huh?!” The boy looked at me like I just slapped him across the face. Not that I really understood why at the moment considering I had just spent the morning with Nejire. Now don’t get me wrong, both of us are incredibly smart and strong but she has a tendency to say whatever she wants, whenever she wants. I tended to pick that up after spending the mornings around her.
I was on my shit roller coaster still, so naturally I repeated my question. “I asked if you’re depressed.”
“Who the hell just asks something like that?!” The tone of his voice changed slightly but he kept the tired, bored look on his face.
