Chapter 7:

*Emmas POV*

I look over in my living room and see a nervous Marcel. He's so cute, just sitting there twiddling with his thumbs waiting for me to get back from changing. I decided to get out my uncomfortable tight jeans and just put leggings on.

"Hey, sorry I took long. What do you wanna do?" He jumped a little when the words first left my mouth and then quickly turned red from being scared so easily.

"U-um, do you wanna b-bake or something? Girls do that r-right?"

"Wow, Marcel I didn't expect you to be sexist. Not all women like being in the kitchen." I joked with him.

"No, no I didn't mean it like that. I like baking too, it's really fun. I wasn't being sexist, God i'm so stupid." He quickly stuttered out, whispering the last part to himself, thinking that I couldn't hear.

"Calm down, I was joking. You're so cute when you get nervous like that." I tell and watch him get even redder.... if that's even possible. Marcel's such a cutey, i'm surprised none of the nerdy girls are going after him.

I walked into the kitchen, knowing that Marcel would follow. I looked around my kitchen quickly picking out ingredients like flour, eggs, and milk.

"How about vanilla cupcakes?" I ask him.

"Those are my favourite." He said with a slight smile.

Marcel seemed a lot better at this than I am. Well I suppose anyone is really, i'm a terrible cook. He kept telling me how much of each ingredients go into the bowl and then he would do all the manual work, like stirring the batter.

After about ten minutes of preparing and sneaking in a few chocolate chips we were ready to put the batter in the oven.

"Here, i'll do it, I don't want you to get burned your hand or anything." He told me while taking the tray out my hand.

"There." He said after popping them in the oven. "What do you want to do while they bake."

I thought for a minute and decided what I wanted to do. I decided on just watching a film cause I was already pretty tired from the long school day.

"Okay, you can pick. Grease or hairspray." I told him. I'd really been loving those 60's movies lately. Everything about them is so fun, the dancing, and singing. He chuckled at my options and then said, "Grease."

I walked back into the living room with him following me and went to go get the DVD out the cupboard in the corner.

"Can you turn the lights off while I put the movie in." I ask Marcel. He quickly does as he's told and then goes to sit down on the couch. I pop the movie in and sit next to him.

It feels a bit awkward because we're so far apart that another person could fit in between us. I scootch a bit closer to him on the couch,  I could tell that I made him kinda've uncomfortable at times. I like Marcel, but not like that. He's not really someone that I would date, but more be good friends with. I know he probably feels the same way about me.

The movie starts and I quickly get up and grab a blanket and put it on top of me and Marcel. He starts to bob his head to the opening music, which makes me chuckle.

We're at the scene where Sandy is sleeping over at Frenchy's with all her friends. I feel my eyelids start to get a bit heavy and I lean my head on Marcel's chest to get comfortable. My eyelids slowly shut close and I feel myself dozing off.
