It was so freezing that those thick coats weren't enough for such drastically low temperatures. But Pierson didn't care, he was too busy proudly leading his own prisoners of war. The rest of his squad remained silent, trying not to get in his way. The golden rule - less talk, more safe. Pride wasn't the only his weakness, he was easily getting jealous so she kept Diana on a short leash, guarding her like a trophy.
Diana noticed Zussman giving his bottle of water to the Nazi soldier and was about to warn him about their sergeant keeping a hawk eye on them, but Pierson was faster. ''Goddamnit, what are you doin' Zussman?'' He ripped out the bottle from the man's hands and the opened bottle fell down on the snow. He'd waste water if it meant not giving an enemy a single drop.
''Lay off, sergeant.'' Diana's eyes widened, hearing Zussman's brave statement.
''What's that?'' Pierson pushed him hard. ''How's that? Huh? How's that work for ya?''
''Pierson, please, stop!'' Diana beggingly grabbed his arm.
''Much better!''
''You sonofabitch.'' Daniels tried to help too but he was pushed away. ''Hey, you stay outta this.'' But Daniels pushed him, glaring at Pierson. Then the prisoner, who was forgotten for a moment, took the bottle and hit Pierson at the back of his head and ran away.
''You okay?'' - asked worried Diana, helping Pierson to stand up.
''I'm gonna kill that bastard!'' And Pierson ran after the man. Terrified Diana followed Pierson. Daniels already stopped the prisoner but Pierson had to release his anger by kicking the man. Then he snatched the paper Zussman was holding. ''The fuck's this say?'' He gave it back to Zussman who started translating it. ''These are orders to plant explosives on the bridge in Remagen. Ordnance is gonna be loaded onto trucks five miles north of here. If I'm reading this right, it's the last bridge standing across the Rhine.''
''Well ain't that somethin', Fritz.'' Pierson kicked the man so hard that everyone heard a breaking bone.

A few hours later...
The full moon was so bright that Diana couldn't avert her eyes from it. ''What are you starin' at?'' - asked Pierson, coming slowly in her way.
''The sky is so beautiful tonight.''
''You're more beautiful.'' He then kissed her forehead. ''Just wait for fireworks.''
''You mean explosives. Pierson, don't lose your mind out there. Your men think that you've gone mad.''
''It's just a shitty rumor. Don't believe 'em.''
''Pierson, you tried to blow us up into a thin air...''
''You're overthinking. Get to your position now.''
Diana was waiting patiently for the signal. She had to leave her favorite task to Pierson and it was detonating. So that time she was a sniper. Others were jealous of her job because she didn't have to run and she had a nice cover in mountains. When the first part of their mission was over, Pierson gave Diana a signal to come down for further orders. ''We're gonna use this truck to infiltrate the enemy airbase and destroy the explosives. Aiello, get it ready to move out. Howard, take some men and clear the road. Stiles, you're with me. Diana, you too.''
''Why am I always with you, sir?''
''Because together we're undefeatable. And you need to help Stiles, he sucks at targeting.''
''Good to know...'' - mumbled Stiles.
''Jump in. I'm gonna take you for a ride.'' - said Pierson to Diana, when he took the driver's seat.
