Hermione POV:

"What do you mean?" I asked my old professor.

"This is a crossroads for you," he said to me, "You must choose between the mortal realm and the spiritual realm."

"I'm dead?!" I exclaim starting to panic.

"Not yet, my dear," he said.

"How is this possible," I asked, "I was fine, I was happy."

"There's a lot of strain on your magic," he explained, "And as you know, I'm sure, your magic is heavily linked to your life source."

Professor Dumbledore was making sense, but I was too overwhelmed.

"I'll let you look around," Dumbledore said with a wink as he faded.

I had been so focused on Dumbledore that I hadn't realized my scenery was changing. I was still in King's Cross, but there were huge windows looking out over rolling hills with beautiful cabins dotting the green grass.

The window zoomed in and I saw the people walking around. I had to choke back a sob as I watched Remus and Sirius walking hand in hand towards their cabin.

Colin Creevey and Lavender Brown laughing on a picnic blanket on the ground.

I kept searching the hills and actually started crying when I saw my parents sitting on rocking chairs talking to James and Lily.

James said something and made a face and my parents threw their heads back in laughter while Lily rolled her eyes at her husband. They looked so blissful and happy.

All of a sudden the door to my parents' cabin flew open and out ran a little girl of about 13. That was it for me and I dropped to my knees sobbing. My heart shattered, but also felt too full.

My mom, dad, and little sister were here.

"Ms. Granger," Dumbledore said, helping me to my feet after I stopped crying, "Turn around please."

I turned and saw an identical window.

It was the world I knew so well. The Burrow came into view as the window zoomed in like a lens.

Harry and Draco were chasing each other around on their broomsticks over the quidditch pitch while Bill and Fleur sat in the garden and drank tea.

Molly was standing at the back window watching her children, biological and adopted alike, enjoy the post war bliss.

Arthur came up to her and put his arm around her shoulder. She leaned into him and they looked at peace.

The camera moved again and focused on my house in Brazil.

My amazing boyfriend is staring out at the ocean.

The back door opens and Ginny comes over to Fred and hugs him. He leans into his sister's embrace and I notice the tears trekking down his face.

They turn and walk back into the house. The window then focuses even more and I see Luna plaiting my hair. It looks like she is singing, but I can't be sure.

Fred walks over to my unconscious form and strokes my face gently.

The words he says I can hear very clearly, "Come back to me, minha luz, please."

My eyes mist up and Professor Dumbledore places a hand on my shoulder.

"It seems to me that you have made up your mind," he says with a gentle smile.

I smile, albeit a bit mournfully, "Yes, I believe so Professor."

"Then, I believe I am of no use to you," he smiles.

"Wait, what am I supposed to do? How do I get back?" I ask frantically.

"You are a smart girl, Ms. Granger, you will figure it out," he says before turning and walking through a door that I hadn't noticed before.

This must be part of my magic, I realize. I can figure this out, I am the brightest witch of my age after all.

My humorless laugh bounces off the cavernous walls, reminding me of just how small I am.

I am starting to feel anxious, so I close my eyes and focus on what I can feel. All of a sudden, my head gets fuzzy and I feel myself moving.

I try to open my eyes to see where I am and why I am moving, but they feel like they weigh a million pounds.

After what seems like a thousand years, I finally force my eyes open to see Luna looking at me.

"Oh, welcome back Hermione," she says softly pointing to Ginny and Fred who are asleep in chairs they brought into my room.

"Hi, Luna," I said with a scratchy voice, "Could you get me some water please?"

"Of course," Luna whispered quietly leaving the room.

As I look at the siblings asleep in my room, I notice their wrinkled clothing and dark under eyes. They must not have been sleeping. As much as I want to talk to them, I think it would be best to let them sleep for a while.

I silently get up to use the bathroom. As I am washing my hands I hear a commotion coming from my bedroom.

I quickly ran back to see Fred freaking out.

"Where did she go?!" he exclaims.

Ginny sees me coming up behind him but I signal her to be quiet.

"Looking for me, love?" I ask, wrapping my arms around his waist.

Fred lifts up his arm and looks at me, shocked.

"Hermione!" He yells, turning around to hug me.

"Merlin!" he yells, "Are you okay!?"

"Yes, my love, I am fine," I say soothing his worries, "But you won't be if you scream in my ear again."

He laughs and my mock glare and kisses me.

"I was so worried," he says looking upset.

"I know you were, but I am okay now," I say, hugging his middle tighter.

He bends down again to kiss me.

Ginny clears her throat behind me. I spin around in Fred's arms to look at her.

"And what about your bestfriends?" she jokingly points to her and Luna, "Do we get any love?"

"Of course you do," I say laughing and they both wrap me into a group hug.

There is nowhere I would rather be than right here with the love of my life and my bestfriends.
